I have found a type 3 squareback, the fella cant tell me the year model, cause he cant find the plate, im a Kombi boy my self so i cant help.... so please could a type 3 fella give me directions to locate it...

In front bonnet next to spare wheel. That's for '69-'73 models, not sure if older ones are the same.

right next to the front bonnet catch when you open it. Should be there or on later ones in the spare wheel well.

You can also use the chassis no. It is located in two places:
1) Inside the front bonnet near the windscreen wash bottle
2) stamped on the tunnel under the back seat
Is it early or late? Does it have small round front indicators, small wrap around indicators with a chrome section, or big wrap around indicators which are all orange?

ok, i will pass on that info...
So far i have only seen car from a distance, from what he is telling me, the interior sounds ok, dash is intact, auto, no motor.... would you believe $100 plus other spares lying about his yard!!!

purpleT3, if it has small indicators is it early model?? i need to drive out and have another look, its a 150 k round trip, but i reckon will be worth the petrol !
