I am after a fairly cheap, good condition 1600 twin port motor that I am able to recon over time for my 68' bug so it will go faster 馃榾 I am also willing to trade my single port 1500, which is in good condition and doesn't blow any smoke.

You can't really recon an engine 'over time'... unless it is out of the car and you do a little on it each day/week...

i have a 1600 twin port but its pulled the replacement headstuds... would make for a nice slow rebuild for ya!
will gladly swap though!

right fish that donk would make a very good rebuild only needs case savers fitted the heads are nearly new i pulled it down and was very impressed

Foxy,have a 1600 tp 12v compl with extractors and hot dog muffler.ready for reco
all i was told was the oil seals were gone so is a bit greasy and has sat here for 2 yrs. engine turns - can contact prev owner for more dtails
and would like to see it go to a vwer as i could then put your 1500 in my 1300 buggy and the 1300 is enough for the Karmann...confused??

What I meant is I would like to buy one that I am able to use in the bug while I save up for a recon! Or if I find one that is at the price and already reconditioned that would be fine to.
