just found this today, wondering if anyone recognises it? am sure i have seen one on a dub before, but what is it? driving light? reverse light? age?
lense is marked Hella Made in Germany, body is in good nic but chrome a bit pitted, looks very cool.

Doesnt look like a driving light by the way the globe is positioned and the lens is smooth without prisms which directs the light. A reverse light sounds more like it.
Would make a sweet as reverse light anyway!

im not sure exactly what it is, but there was a post earlier about a kombi with a lamp just like that fitted inside the car, on the dash (pointing outwards of course).
it was apparently used to light the signs on the road. Looks alot like one of them.

No thats not a helphos type lamp (the ones fitted to the windscreen) as it doesnt have a rubber suction ring that sticks it to the screen.
Cheers

hey just looking at that lamp
ya beetle headlights would more brightly than that pre spottie - wouldnt it?
but then it is a period item, do it for the show rather than the go maybe?

thanks rhys, have a nice set of more modern spotties, so recon i will stick with fitting those, not sure what to do with this oen at the moment, maybe it will end up on my fathers notch.

Use it for a reverse light so you can see them trees comin at you from a couple of kays away..
Or when someone has their high beams on behind you you just give em a blast with it :P
