I live in perth and have seen in my travels the makings of a stretch beetle i assume to be used as a limmo does anybody know when it will be finsished and what it will be used for would love a ride when finished.

The 2000 VW Beetle Turbo (Electric Blue) can have a Lava Lamp Bar, Peace Signs, and Mirrored Ceiling which can have up to 8 passengers.

haven't seen a beetle but how about the split i found in one of my kombi books..

Have they fabbed that whole centre section or have they chopped down a coluple of kombis?

I know what engineering we had to go through for a 1.4m stretch on the EH, this would be very mind altering.

The running boards were good till someone broke the trim on the left hand side at the front..
They have been having some problems, but it's getting there...
Gunna be something to see THAT going down the street all finished off..!!!

I like the white new beetle stretch, but not that blue one that has the curved side windows :puke

One of the requirements when doing our stretch was the ground clearance which was to be 100mm per 3500mm of wheelbase. This left us with a clearance requirement of 125mm. Looking at the length of the beetle it should be about 200mm off the ground?????
Also it would have to have major upgrading of axle bearings, rims and brakes for the extra weight requirements of all passengers????
That's my technical point of view anyway. Otherwise I like people daring to be different.

Yeah, it would a bloody challenge to build alright.
And u would have to make sure u keep the stretch really strong so it doesn't sag in the middle. ha ha lol. That would be an interesting sight.:P

This is a photoshop fake ... Look at the shadows from the pillars inside the car..
If this were a real car it would be bent like a banana laying sideways.. You can even see where they messed up the shadow on the ground about half way along the car..

A simple squish of the car shows where it started which is made more evident by the dark section of shadow across the doors which I have highlighted in yellow... I didn't bother lining it up perfect but you get the idea...

You'll notice on the faux stretched one, that area looks patchy through the middle and no limo builder would send a car out of the workshop with centre windows looking like a hole cut in the side of the car with no trim around it...
