1954 Oval beetle pretty complete.
Heater Channels and gutters are good for such a old car.
Chassis and engine numbers match.
I have not started the engine but is all there.
There is some rust in the off side rear quarter, drivers side pan and in the back corners and one bumper mounting in the rear.
Is missing the W lid, front lights, semps, rear lights.
Not sure if it has the correct interior.
Grooved Doors are really good and rust free, comes with orginal fenders and bonnet, for an oval, one front fender needs a repair, or I have a replacement.
The car rolls and breaks and has a hand brake.
steering wheel, column and fuel tank are missing.
Is pretty complete for such an early car.
Can help with delivery or may deliver too for this price
if you are not too far.
Want what the car owes me, 3 months of travel forces sale.
make an offer.
may part out if no interest

Olsk88l ·
Apparently this fine creature lived in a paddock since the last reg:: it was pretty much very dry in I think WA the window sections on this bueaty are perfect I had to let her go because of my other cars no room but she was complete when I let he go....actually I still have the lights somewhere
(this is a good start for project)
Beerboy ·
sold to gilders on here is that right then?
Car has some rust but the heaters and gutters are good.
Be a shame to break as the numbers all match, and 54 are pretty rare in the UK. with talk of them being in the handfuls.
The US are pretty interested too as it is RHD. those funny yanks ;-)
Olsk88l ·
I had several UK dudes e-mailing me before about it,put it on e-bay see what happens my oldskool66 is on there!

vwtyp2 ·

T54
Beerboy ·
What year seats you after and where are you. I think the seats might be later
VDUBXTC ·
I'd be up for the doors if you were going to part it out.
let us know if you decide to part it
Cheers
Beerboy ·
whole thing to start with, don't mind keeping the doors ;-)
Coxy ·
i've seen this car and it's really solid. It's definitely a great project car for either full resto, resto cal or rat! It would be a shame to break it when it's so solid.
scott ·
Gee, at $1500 it makes the oval I'm selling look cheap.
Scott
Beerboy ·
ono ;-)
maybe yours is cheap ;-)
scott ·
It hasn't sold. Maybe it's too expensive - buyers set the market.
It's either off to Trading Post, or back into the garage.
Beerboy ·
yours or mine?
scott ·
Mine.
Coxy ·
if i had the cash in my hand your car scott would ne mine and you can ask Beerboy and he'll tell you that i'm trying to get the cash together!
Beerboy ·

Beerboy ·
just missed that one then. Doing myself out of a sale again ;-)
now I know which one
Turbo54 ·
Hi Beerboy, Im after a passenger 54 front seat, the seat frames are different on 54's.
T54
Beerboy ·
I think they are later seats. I will get some pics and post today as I have these close.
This car now has 350 on its head (roof) if anyone want to take over the parting out.
Be a shame to break it mind :-(
Beerboy ·
more pictures here, click on a thumbnail for a bigger picture
pictures of the rough interior. open to offers on the interior.
waltermitty ·
Man that interior looks a lot like more like a splitty than an oval. LOL Mitl
Beerboy ·
LOL - yeah as you can see not in the oval at the moment, but taking up space in the kombi
Coxy ·
........taking up good beer space in the kombi Lloyd!
Coxy
Beerboy ·
tell me about it mate, will swap for beer ;-)
prettyboy ·
Willl you take $50 .00 for the engine?
Beerboy ·
no thanks mate not really worth the hassle for 50 bucks?
Do you want the whole car for 1000? ;-)

Funny, this car lived at my place in Adelaide from 2001 til 2004. Never got round to restoring her, wish I had now, actually looking out for a cheap Oval shell to build a tube frame drag bug. Ever regret selling somethin?!!
WABaja ·
Now's your chance to own it again....
[Edited on 17-5-2005 by WABaja]
Beerboy ·
As WABAJA says nows your chance for a good solidish cheap oval. and it looks like a few aussie vee dubbers have had their grubby little mits on it :-)
[Edited on 17/5/2005 by Beerboy]
Beerboy ·
interior is now sold
Nearly 1k views and no offers for a job lot?
now on the dreaded ebay ;-)
I have just had a look through a few vdub sites worldwide and I am not coming up with many RHD 54's. was the first beetle produced in 49?
Coxy ·
i don't know but the first Beetle produced outside of Germany was made in Ireland in 1950 and that's RHD!
C'Mon Ireland!!!!!!!!!!!
Coxy ·
P.S. That Beetle is now on display in the Wolfsburg museum. That useless info was brought to you by Coxy who is counting the time away until the weekend starts and he can have a beer! Bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!
Beerboy ·
still not many years of production though is it :-)
57 Chook Shed ·
The first "Beetle" was produced in 1939.
There were prototypes built strating a few years before that.
The Wolfsburg factory was out of action until the mid to late 40`s as it was bombed by the Poms, then they rebuilt it.
I think the first of the post war "export" Beetles were produced in 1948.
[Edited on 27-5-2005 by 57 Chook Shed]
Beerboy ·
"bombed by the poms" and built and got into production by the good old british army. ;-)
so not many years of production then?
any idea how many are left, production couldn't have been that high in the beginning could it ?
thanks for the input
[Edited on 27/5/2005 by Beerboy]
Beerboy ·
got a fair few watchers and 5 hours to go
Beerboy ·
Now not on ebay decided not to give it away.
unlike the seats ;-)
looking for sensible offers to persuade me otherwise?
anyone want the doors then?
VDUBXTC ·
What sort of $$ are you looking at for the doors beer boy.
byronbus ·
you have u2u
Beerboy ·
Don't know something a bit more worth while than 50 bucks each, to make it worth the pain of getting them off. Quite keen to keep the doors and a few other bits really.
The main reason why for the way it was going on ebay I decided to pull.
For that sort of money I might as well keep all the good bits I want and give the rest away ;-)
god that was a longer answer
than make an offer
wasn't it
Turbo54 ·
Beerboy, if your door are 54 doors and have the rib around them there worth about 500 for a good clean set. I could sell them 100 times for 50 each. Dont be crazy, the doors are one of the hardest parts to find rust free. If you want to sell the seats let me know as I need a passenger seat.
Turbo54
Beerboy ·
thanks mate, finally ;-)
the idea was to sell the oval at that price as I do not really have the time and space as I have a few other cars on the go.
Then I looked at my ebay advert and saw sense where else can you get a 54 for 750 bucks.
I might as well take what I want stick it on ebay for a low price or god forbid scap the rest.
The drivers door is very good and I have another oval that is an early 55 that could need some bits.
change of plan, it will take sensible bids for me to lose these parts that I need.
same with the interior. its just my other car is not very close
Some of these parts I have been looking for about a year.
time to get sensible.
Beerboy ·
hup
VDUBXTC ·
I'll give you $200 for the doors beerboy
Beerboy ·
thanks mate, don't think I will have any problems shifting the doors. looking for interest on the whole thing, got a few people coming to look over the next few weeks. so we shall see. otherwise I go and get what I want.
Beerboy ·
no breaking it just yet
Beerboy ·
bump
Beerboy ·

vwoval ·

Interested in the motor if you decide to part.
Beerboy ·
