Check the phone book. Toll Logistics bought Splittychicks bus from Adelaide to Melbourne, they have a special car transport division. They were pretty good and we had no problems, but shop around for the best price.

They were called Autotrans express. The Melbourne phone no. is 92842966.I had no problems with them but my bus was almost a wreck at the time so it didn't matter if they scratched it etc..

Don't use TNT I had 4 cars transported from Vic - NSW and all 4 were trashed. It cost me around 2.5k using an inclosed carried (aparently). However cost of repairs to date is 23k and rising, luckily all cars were insured through shannons and vigil. Also they like to take your car for a joy ride, an extra 10+ mile was on each car.
TNT can go and get F#%ked
Try autotrans, I can reccomend them.

sure? Autotrans ? just called them price was pretty good, I'm just worried about the service!! cause i'll need the guys to take good care of it (and NO JOY RIDES), before I'll leave the car with the them. I don't want the new owner to receive it in bad condition or risk anything !!!
Third Party Shannon doesn't cover that ? I can get something extra from shannons ?

btw! thanks for the useful info!

BUMP!
Autotrans sounds pretty good!
Just want to ask anymore suggestions before I organize a transport? all I need is low price and which they WILL TAKE GOOD CARE OF THE CAR!!
Let the new owner arrange own transport. You don't want to be responsible for it. Not even a recommendation.

hm... but I gota arrange it and drop it at the depot ...
** help ** !! anyone else tried Autotrans Express? and rekon they're cool ?

wise words those ones..

Was it part of the deal that you'd arrange transport? It's ok to co-ordinate it on the owners behalf. But seriously, would you let someone else arrange t'port of your car? It's the owners responsibility. If you arrange it and it goes bad, who do you reckon will have to foot the bill?
Most car carriers will pick up and drop off door to door too.

i would agree with busser.
My manx went missing for over a week because the company lost its truck and driver.
I would leave the transport arrangements up to them, but help out if needed getting the car to a depot, but most carriers will offer door to door..
Or see if you can ship it on the spirit of tassie to sydney

Ill do it for $385 + GST
From your Door in Melbourne providing it is metro area to our Depot here in Moorebank Sydney.
Vehicle is covered for market value besides the windscreen.
Guy's Transit insurance only covers panel damage. Same with every carrier.
We can move cars anywhere in aus. and do all the new cars off the warf's etc.
The other day i had a customer ring and abuse us because he purchased a old Morris Minior from Someone in sydney and he lived in Melbourne.
Now he bought the car without seeing it.
He recieved the vehicle and rings me up and abuses us because it has the following things wrong with it:
Missing Qaurter window. (had been missing for ages, you could tell by the condition of the rubber)
Broken Starter (Some pull start thing in the dash) - was broken when the car arrived cause we had troubles starting it.
Missing Door strap (some old cars have door handle straps)
and the best one of them all (A noisy clutch)
The funny thing is. The guy he bought it off got a tow truck to tow it 20km and then the tow truck got here and would not give us a delivery receipt to say he dropped the car off at our depot.
So when it got to Melb the seller told the buyer in melb that all this stuff must of went wrong when we carried it.
Now the buyer in melb paid for the transport from our Depot to Melb. but the seller paid for the $120 tow truck to get it to our depot. To us it smelt fishy.Cause he wanted the buyer to think the car carrier was the one that stuffed the car.
Till we did some research and got back to the buyer in Melb and he believed us and went back to the seller and got up him.
Funny thing was i know 100% it was not us because i watched the truck driver load this car. It drove a maximum of 10 metres to hes truck from where the tow truck dropped it. And the truck driver knew the gearbox was stuffed so refused to start the vehicle and he rolled it off hes truck and out of our own money we paid to get a tow truck to tow it to the buyer rather then driving it on a truck cause we didnt want anything to go wrong.
So in shorter words. The seller tried to flog hes problems off onto us and the buyer was led to believe we fukd the car.
Not to mention the tow truck dropped this car off on monday. within 40minutes of sitting in the yard it was loaded shipped off to melbourne. day it arrived it went to the buyer. It sat in a yard for a maximum of 1hour at either end. You could not get any better service then that :P

I used Toll to move the split we bougth from Perth to Melbourne - perfect service, we bought the car sight unseen and it arrived in perfect knick. I'd recommend them every day of the week for interstate car transport. And they were the cheapest, I think it was about $500 to move it from Perth depot to Melbourne depot.
