Type 3 panelvans- Whats the big deal!!!

I don't get it... Type 3 panelvans were built here and also at Emden, yes they are rare but don't get caught up with them...they are spartan...bare...build quality was shit(especially at Clayton), thin paint...etc. I'd prefer a 1962 variant. There are plenty of other collectable vw's out there. What about a 1968 bay window deluxe with Factory steel sliding roof, sliding doors on both sides, beige(yes beige) floormats , trim and armrests... with the standard 1600 slug!!!ahhhhh.

Its only rare if you believe in it.

I have a guy in the UK with a early 60s T3 Panel, very ratty but goes very quick (see other panel T3 thread for pics). It is a nice motor, and because its unseen here in the UK its a rare site.

Bit like that EMPI tat that became trendy in the mid 90s with the 70s retro cal look styled rides. How many have now found their so called EMPI Gtv steering wheel, wasnt really a real GTV, just had a nice blue badge with a wheel that was similiar.

Like the RX exhaust that I used to run on my car, it was a rare site to see in the past few years, but back in the late 80s it was THE zorst to have, with its twin stingers. These became rare and the price reflected this.

Agree that for your money you could get something very different.

Hey I sold a panel van to a guy in Adelaide who then sold it to a guy in the UK. The one you know wouldn't happen to be a red one would it? got any pics?

Cheers

you can't tell me that this doesn't get you excited.

Nice square typ2 - gets me excited

Oh baby.... one day I'll get one...

Great square!! Well i'd love a panel to play. Me and Kai looked at a conversion done to a square. It's not that huge a job , well it is if done right but no sweat to a good panel beater. Simple paint , mega clean , nice rims and bagged! Yum yum!

Stu i used to run an RX and it still sits hiding in one of my Dads garages somewhere i think . Will be bringing it back after my visit to the UK in Aug for sure. Should get Rich from Turbo Thomas to knock some up for T1 & 3's. Used to sound great and look real cool!

Rich wanted to take mine to make some, however I felt that it would be like snide BRMs etc, and to many jumping on a bandwagon. Also that zorst is patent protected by P R Distributing in California. I know what your saying Dan that it would be nice to see them, but I can see them becoming like the Phat zorsts and snide BRMs. But hey who am I to say what can and cant be done.

Panel van, is painted in a real off red and was sold to Puppy at T3D. He then sold it to Ben (Ruddles County blue fasty) who has been doing some authentic bits on it. I had the impression that it came from Norway.
