Took the family out to get dinner tonight and got rear ended by a Semi Trailer........Had heaps of rain up here, driving down Sangate Rd and had a Street sweeper truck in front of us hit the skids and I stopped behind him then looked into the rear view mirror to see the grill of a Mack truck before he crunched into the back of us........

$2.63 homebrand baja ·
:o hope ur all ok..............

You wouldnt believe it, I took my foot off the brake just before he hit so the kombi would at least roll, and his bullbar hit our towbar and there isnt a mark on either vehicle......scared the hell out of the kids tho.......
So the Dog took on a Semi and lived to tell the tale.....

Mate, glad to hear the car is good but most of all that neither you nor the family were hurt.

Damn
that must have almost required a change of underwear!!! Sure there isn't any ripples underneath/at the bar mounts where your tow bar attaches?
Just be ertain.
But well done if you made it out with just a love bite!! Hope the kids don't think about it too much.

lucky she is up so high or the truck might have hit the tail gate instead of the bumper
same thing happend to my old baja bus but with a 4wd
i thought there was no damage to my bus so i drove away thinking the motor is running like crap, only to find when i got home that my exhaust was hit and one of the pipes had compleatly closed.

Nah the family is all well, just a little shaken up.....and no there is no damage to the Kombi, if I'd kept my foot on the brakes it might have been a little different.

Bob, I was thinking the same thing myself, if it was a beetle or anything lower it would have been much worse.
kombibob ·
yep i hope it never happens in my split

lucky, lucky! I know what you mean about it being the right height. when I rearended a guy in my baja, If my front end was any higher or lower I would've done far more damage to him and I woulda had to pay for it. Lucky for me it just bent his towball and he didn't ring back.:thumb
