Deluxe Fat Rubber steering wheel that was fitted on the last of the bay window busses made. (1978?)
These are great for driving comfort, ask anyone who has this type of wheel on there bay window and they will tell you. Will fit earlier Bay window busses if you change the steering column spline (they are bigger than earlier ones).
Very hard to find.

I am going to fit it in a 71 I have just got to restore..... I have heard of people fitting later steering wheels to earlier busses, you just put in a later steering column dont you?? I guess it just fits straight in then as normal.
And..... while we are here ...... dont supose the trims still available? you went very quiet on that!

Dozza, you have to change the steering shaft only to a later one. Lobus has done this and picked up a shaft for $20 at a wrecker, not a hard job to do.
No horn button on this but i'm not sure if a ealier on fits??

myself i have 3 and im 17all up in the family there is 9 betwen me and my dad!!

Wow.... thats a lot of Kombis!!!!! I have three
71, 72 and 73....
just fully restored a 72.... all original but have lowered it with adjusters.
Not in a rush for the column but would be keen to get it off you when it suits..... any ideas on where I can get a deluxe chrome trim or bits of.....
I might hassle you for some other bis in the future if thats cool
