Yep. Just had a fortnight off, plus by the time we get to Melbourne, it will be dark, and driving Nellie in the dark is generally a no-no.

There has been a bit of a breakdown in communications not with the Drive-In but with the promotion of the film by Village
The Drive-In would have been happy to show this at a more reasonable time...but the club has pulled out of involvment as it was going to make it much too late a night for most of our members who would have like to attend...
The film will still be shown but watch out in the papers for details...now

....the club is trying another venue....but nothing confirmed....It's still free entry for vw's so far at Coburg....

Yeah, sounds like it would still be fun. But better if heaps of cars were there. Would be good with all VW's, but can you imagine a whole section of the drive in filled with beetles...! It would look great. I can sort of see their point.
If it starts at 11 it will be finished before 1, it's a kids film isn't it? they never go longer than an hour and a half. Be home by 1:30 latest.
I'm there if other people are still going.

....I didn't here the version about the watercooled beetles only....as far as I know they are still letting all VW's in free....but I guess it will be advertised at some stage
It is the promoter/marketer from Village that is calling these shots and not the Drive-In manager .... apparently he feels a bit bad the way it has turned out for us....Richard had put a lot of work in with him on it and Village walk in and change it....it's very disappointing for him 🙁

Hi everyone
I'm the one whose been putting this all togther. I'm a bit dissapointed in Village marketing but as for the Coburg drive in, its not their fault. The manager there has his hands tied and while he was on our side he has no choice but to run it the way it is. The night will still be on but I can tell you now that at Dromana on the 25th it will be way better. This event is open to all Vws. I want to see how many Vws we can get down there. THIS EVENT IS NOT FREE but prices are very resonable
I cant wait till Saturday 25th at Brandon Park, and the best thing is that the Dromana Drive in is letting our Vw's in well before they open the Gates to the Public. :thumb

There are a lot of xclub members who helped out at a promotion of Herbie Fully Loaded over last weekend at Northland Shopping Centre and the preview is on tonight...I hope they don't give the story away when we meet up at Brandon Park on Saturday...just don't listen to them...tune out so the ending isn't spoilt for us :thumb
The Ermel's through a Herbie together at the last minute to display at the Cinema there...it was very weird having two Herbies in the RACV carpark for last nights club meeting...but kinda cool as well!! 😎
Hope to see lots of Melbourne and Vic 'its there....rugged up of course...it will be fun.... BE THERE!!

Shouldn't be too cold. If you crank the heater on the way there the car will be hot by the time you get there. Just don't leave the doors open too long and take a blanket 🙂
