Let me guess,he was a burglar trying to cut his way in through the roof and he got fried by cutting through electric cables.:thumb
VWENVY ·
Or he was an ex employee doing the Graveyard Shift...and he disappeared never seen again - until...something fell through the roof into the chip fryer!! dodododododo

A MAN found dead in the roof cavity of a Brisbane petrol station may have been electrocuted while trying to break in to the building, police suspect.
The man's body also may have been in the roof cavity at the Freedom Fuels service station at Wakerley for several days.
However the body was not found until today, when a customer noticed a foul smell.
He alerted the attendant, who had recently undergone nasal surgery and was unable to detect any odour, police said.
The dead man has not yet been identified.
Police said the service station was closed over the weekend and the dead man may have been there since last week.
A post mortem examination has yet to be conducted
....yucky

Does anyone else see how convinent this is.....???
jenz58 ·
....I noticed that....what a coincidence.... :alien
I guess though with a dead body in the roof and police asking lots of questions and....hopefully a person realising they can easily check medical records if need be.....then why lie???

I feel sorry for the people who had to retreve the body. Not only due to the strong, disgusting smell, but also the idea that the body has been rotting in the hot roof over a whole weekend. It would look and smell pretty horrid.

If this event has taught me one thing, it's that the media make up so much Bullshit it's not funny. Monday afternoon approx 4pm was when the body was found. I wasn't working there at the time, but at the Thornside one round the corner. On duty at the time was Shane who is actually attached to Thornside servo but does a few hours at the Wakerley one, and Karen (my Mum) the manager. There was also the security guy there, who was doing his routine check of the cameras and so on. Throughout the day there had been a funky smell which got bad enough by four that customers were complaining. The staff concluded that there must of been a rat, or possum dead in the roof or air-con so they turned it off to see what happened. This increased the smell tenfold. Karen told the security guy to get up on his step ladder and pop his head up through the ceiling and have a look. He does so and promptly comes down the ladder white as a sheet and saying nothing. Shane pops his head up there and sees a big hole in the roof and what looks like a manakin hanging through (he was also thinking the other possibility, but kids in the area play lots of pranks). So Shane goes round the back, gets up on some crates and onto the roof for a look. Walks over to the hole and sees the waist downwards of the "mannakin" lying flat on the steel roof and the rest hanging through, has a look, taps it with his boot and makes the obvious conclusion. The site was immeadiatly shut and locked down, all power turned off and police and management rung. Police, ambos and fireies arrive and about 20 min later so do media vans and three TV choppers. About 2 hours or so the body is removed but not before the bloated body burst making a massive mess.:repuke Cleaning crew and coppers get out of there by about 3pm the next day and the site is reopened.
Now for the details: Turns out the attempted break in occured about Thursday night, so the body was up there for four days. There was actually two guys up there from the fingerprints, shoeprints and tools etc. of course the 2nd guy did a runner when his mate went got fried. Not sure exactly what he was trying to do but, probably trying to cut the alarm wires and managed to electrocute himself. He only had a sock over his hand for fingerprints, no gloves!

A post mortem examination has yet to be conducted]
1.First off, he wasn't in the roof cavity as I said, he was half lying on the roof and half hanging inside the ceiling.
2. a customer did not notice the smell first, the staff already had, the customers were the ones complaining.
3. a customer did not alert the atendant, who could not smell it as they had had a nose operation. This probably came from the fact that several days before Karen had to have a skin cancer removed from her face (cheekbone area not nose) and still had the stitches in. She can smell fine.
4. as far as I know the man was identified almost immeaditely as he was known for breaking and entering, but his details haven't been released or confirmed.
Other papers, radio, news said this: "The body was not found earlier as the store was closed during the weekend"- Not true, like almost all servos it is open everyday.
"A customer found the body in the ceiling" - No, a security guard saw it first and a staff member went and confirmed it.
Any questions?
WABaja ·
.
I have a question....
Did you give him a kicking when they got him down...???:cussing
:P
Make sure you put a death notice in the paper for him...
It should read,
"From the Staff and Management of Freedom Fuels Service Station, Wakerley"
"SUCK SH!T"...!!!!
:P

Lucky they were professionals, imagine if an amature was trying to break in. He could have been really hurt.
57kombi ·
Stories like this make my day.
I hope he suffered as well.
Too many do gooders nowadays, some are proberbly saying that they feel sorry for him and his family.
I dont feel sorry for him or his family as he didnt give a crap about them otherwise he wouldnt have been doing what he was.
Also anyone who believe half of whats in the news is an idiot.
Just on this
I had to attend Baxter detention center a while ago , this was when the news had stated that Afgan refugees had sew their mouths together and were on a hunger strike.
Well I had to talk to one of these men, you could see the cotton in his mouth,
I spoke to him and he replied with a fully open mouth, They had just sewn cotton through their bottom lips and when they closed their mouths it looked like they had sewn them completely.
They were seen by myself having a BBQ.
I asked the guards why they werent telling the press about this, they stated that the press knew but it made a better story to have everyone thinking that they had sewn their mouths up???
In todays Adelaide Advertiser there is a piece on it.
Starts with the heading.
"Worker had nasal surgery and couldnt smell dead body"
Never let the truth spoil a good story.
Cheers
Dave

I agree with 57Kombi, if this person wasn't doing anything illegal then this wouldn't have happened. I have heard fo someone getting hurt while robbing a persons house and then suing the owner for negligence. That really sucks !
I will be suprised if the family doesn't try to take legal action with the service station for "allowing" this to happen !

Lol, I heard this on the radio and thought it a bit strange......and they still havent pinned you for this yet Boozer? Well Done....:thumb
