Hi,
New to vdubbs.Have just bought a beetle but I am curious to know what sort of money I would expect to pay for a single or twin cab that would need doing up. Nothing to far gone but I do enjoy a challenge. I also realise this is like the normal question of How much is a piece of string.

Yes, this is the string question.
But expect to pay anywhere from $100 to $2000.
I have a mate who bought a 64 panel van a few months ago for $100 but I have seen others trying to sell unrestored splits for up to $10,000.
Whatever you are after dont spend more than $2000 on any unrestored split, It will still cost the same to do a $100 or a $10,000 bus in repairs.
Some have bought expensive ones with shiny paint only to discover that the paint goes when you do the sills etc as thay all have the same rust.

Id say you would pay a fair bit more for a twincab, good luck finding one for 2k
I have an original paint unrestored singlecab, i wouldnt part with it for less than 10k...

Thats funny, I know one here in Adelaide that I can buy for $700, and yes it is a split twincab.
Its on the back burner for a while and dont bother asking where it is.

Its alright Wes, No one and I mean no one in the scene knows about this one and the bloke has given me his word,and hes an old boy who is very trustworthy, its mine, just waiting to see if I will do it or not.

LOL it's not " How much is a piece of string " it's "How long is a piece of string" . String is about $2 for a big roll from Bunnings if your still after some. LOL:P
