Off to the UK for 3-6 months

As my mum has to have what is a fully major operation i'm adding on an extra few months to look after my mum. Work have approved for me to take 3-6 months leave with a job to return to. Leave late July and although i'll return to Sydney i feel a move will be on the cards. Hopefully i have managed to store my car and bits and pieces so my square will be taken care of. safe and sound , warm and dry. Looks like my rides are on hold now for a short while.
As well as the family thing i'll be doing a few part time jobs so i can bring some money back with me and also be able to see some shows and drags whilst i'm there.
I'll have to keep my eyes open for parts aswell , some good swap meets over there!
Just trying to hook some meets up in preperation for my visit and have the offer of a lift to the drags which is great! Will be summer aswell , well that means hopefully it wont rain and the shows will be busy!

Here's to a 24 hour flight and free booze!!!

Should be very weird as i havent been back in 5 years! Really looking forward to being with family for a good amount of time and will definatly be getting out and about the shows etc. Long summer days isnt too bad to be heading off to and i'll make sure i'm back before it gets too cold!

Hope your Ma is ok Dan. Where abouts in UK you heading? Late balmy twilight summer nights and walm beer in the local. Sounds bliss to me.

Back to Solihull in the West Midlands. Talk about a culture shock! Saying that i am looking forward to a proper English pub and a few beers and Yorkshire puddings like dustbin lids full of sausage , mash and gravy!!! No one makes yorkshire puddings like my mum!

A great time of year to go back, those damn pommies just about be peeling off a few layers and getting out of hibernation. Hope your mother is OK too. She be pleased to see you and you get to do bug jam and maybe spa too ;-)

we just did a similar trip - take my advice - get a car off eBay in the UK, forget VWs, but you can get really good cars for like $1000.00 and then get yer money back - apart from that the price is a total rip off! Hahahaha

We planned to go fer a year, lasted 6 weeks.........good luck!

Luckily transport wont be a problem as i have family transport waiting. Nice if i could get a seat in a VW for the shows though!
