Help Please: Golf Mark I Door Locks

Hi all,

Just putting the last touches on my 1977 Mark I golf, but I am missing one critical, almost impossible to find piece.

The piece I need it the plastic connector for the door lock knob to the door lock.
It is about 2cm long made of white plastic.
If anyone could help me out, I would be very appreciative.

If you want a new one try a porsche dealer and pretend youve got an old 924 or 944 much of the door mechanism is the same and they probably wont tell you its obsolete like the vw bloke (theyre prabably cheaper too !!)
