My family and I have never been that fond of the queen to make a big deal about her birthday. Its only usual that we seem to here bad things about her through the media and news (like Prince Charles wedding and wife and all earlier this year). 馃榾
I personally haven't seen her do any real good for our country at all. Thats just me anyway.
We seem to see it as an excuse for a day off, and its good to have a 3 day weekend, really makes the weekend a nice break/treat. What do u all rekon and the queens birthday?
:P

I think it's totally just an excuse for a day off. And since I'll take any excuse, the Queen's birthday is as good as any.
In the UK, I don't think they even get the day off.
MUD BASHING ANYONE ?? 路
Sounds like a good excuse to me, like i need one

The only people in the UK who get the Queens birthday off are the civil servants. I get no end of joy telling my old mates that we get it off over here!!! God save the Queen!

We get a certain number of holidays per year. Some are assigned as psuedo-religious days some as secular events.
The nominal day for queen's/kings birthday is simply one of these.
Elizabeth Saxe-Coburg Gotha and the Greek idiot probably don't even know when the holiday occurs.
A better day to celebrate will be when each of the inbred theives are assasinated.

...they showed her riding her horse at Buckingham Palace for her bd......apparently they do it cos June falls in their Summer and they think it's a better time to celebrate...but yes the British don't get it off....I have a British visitor that I work with and he thinks it's a joke that we get a public holiday for it when he doesn't at home but I'm sure he's enjoying the break :beer

Hey while we're on the subject of the Queen did anyone see that a claimant to the throne actually lives in outback NSW and he's from the Plantagenet line and makes his claim to the throne stronger than the present Queen...by the way he's not interested in taking up the job.

I celebrate the queens birthday. I buy myself a present to honor her and I take myself out for dinner and drink some fine wine, in all her majesty's honorable name

Ive had difficulty celebrating Queen's birthday ever since Freddy Mercury went to that bid fat bottomed girls bicycle ride in the sky.
