Discovered our Kombi is in fact an ex army VW. It was bought off the army in 95' Had alot of work done to it including a bare metal re spray. Was sold in 2000/2001, then sold to us - we picked it up yesterday.
Were the army cars taken care of well?

We had ex airforce 9 seat Kombi and it was excellent-had been bought by Air Force officer after it was sold and he kept it for about 15 years.

hi all, you need to clarify the year model of the bus,the last army kombi's were sold off in 1983-4 these were the last 78 9 seater models..our familt buisness had the contract for maintence in sydney, i remember going to milperra where they auctioned the last of em,..sad day... as far as these vans were concerned everything was replaced on a major service shedeule..and highly maintained...some were hammered...remember a aotu 78 which went off road bashing and ripped the auto sump pan and valve body clean off....the boyz must of been bored cheers steve
