Hey andy how good are they, i'm really after 16 " as i have brand new tyres
waiting in the shed. I'll show a friend of mine them he's looking for some

VolksFolks ·

HaHa, they are Fantastic , (off corse i would say that), seriously they are good quality and are AS approved.

I do have some 16's though, second hand, on our passat, with tyres 225/50?/16 half tread left, these are genuine VW as fitted in the factory, check pic, cheers Andy

Just make sure if you get mags that they have been machined to suit kombi and also have custom nuts / studs as required. Stock kombi nuts do not work with a lot of teh mags availible. They do not work with Audi / merc for example as the taper is different.

Thanks Brad, will normal mag wheel type nuts do the job? and
are kombi's 14mm stud size

toplessbug ·

the type of nuts you require depends on the nut seat on the wheel typically there are 3 major types 60 deg, ball and flat washer with shank

I won a set of mags off ebay and they are multi fit european mag. I'm picking them up on Sat the guy told me his son put the same on his 76 kombi and hey had to drill the holes out as they were 12mm.So they drilled them to 14mm. So i'm abit unsure what type of nuts to use

Brad ·

Nuts will depend on the mag.

When you get your mags get your kombi nut and put grease into the mag hole move it around with your fingure so it gives good cover but isn't everywhere. Then put kombi nut in, turn it around and pull it out. Have a look at the surface of the nut and see what the pattern is like. If it covers everything well then it is probably ok, if it only makes a little ring then you wil find it is the incorrect tapper.
