At around 4 pm today, someone (probably our hoster) uploaded phpBB 2.0.16 over the top of the forum. This stopped the forum.
At around 6.30 pm, I tried fixing it, but someone "helpfully" ran the installer which blew away our database. So up until 6.30 pm, we had lost no posts beyond two hours without any access. So we're back to Sunday morning, when I last took a backup.
As I don't have a lot of the files of the original site, we're moving to the new version which is under development. If you notice anything odd, please post it here, and I'll fix it.

I am only using 2.0.8 and have been told by my hoster that I have to upgrade to 2.0.15... even though current version is 16???
I've been to phpBB site and the upgrade packages seem to go ponly one level, ie 2.0.8 to 2.0.9.. 9 to 10, 11 to 12 etc etc etc etc..... Does that mean I have to go through every update until I get to current version or will using the lastest update fix the lot?

Hmm I should have downloaded first. 2.0.8 to 1.0.16 is in the zip file. Now just have to figure out what to do with it.

Why is it better? phpBB was free, thats why I have it. I havent done anything with it, just use as is, striaght out of the box. With the traffic I am getting though, almost a waste of space.

Why is it better? phpBB was free, thats why I have it. I havent done anything with it, just use as is, striaght out of the box. With the traffic I am getting though, almost a waste of space.

What browser are you using? Some browsers, notably Opera, center the page due to a rendering bug.
The following browsers work fine:
Safari 2.0 - Mac
Firefox 1.0.4 - Mac and PC

I had everything left yesterday, but today it is all centred. Fix it man...tis driving me nuts 🤪
I went looking at the source and got bamboozled by how many times the word center appears. Funny thing is, I saved it to my desktop and opened it in frontpage. In the 'normal' view, everything is left, but in 'preview' its centred.
If you add "text-align: left;" to the tablerow class it fixes it.
When I edit posts I seem to get a "nn" put in there????
