where can you buy the stick on "fake chrome rubber strips that go around the kombi ( just under the windows in my case)?

Ask a panel shop to get some better quality stuff for you. They may even give you the number of their pinstripe guy. The better quality stuff doesnt go bad in the sun after a year or two, or fall off.

If your in Brisbane talk to John at Volksworld over near Herston. He has some awesome original stuff and only parts with it for the serious restorer enthusiast.
