Rocket firing Beetles

ringoschariot ·

I was reading a book the other day about the fall of Berlin in 1945 and it stated that a squadron of Beetle sedans were organised which had rocket launchers fitted to their roofs.

Apparently high command lost contact with them very quickly and were never heared from again.

Somehow Iam not suprised, Beetle versus T34 tank.

Does anyone have any more info of the Rocket Firing beasts?

That would look so funny when the rocket goes one way the beetle would go the other.

Big surprise that they lost contact. Smart ones would have been dumping the rockets and driving real fast to the Western side of Berlin to get captured by the yanks😵‍💫.

my father had a workmate who was in the german airforce during the war his sqadron was chosen to test the v2 rockets before they perfected the guidance system to cut a long story short the first time he flew over allied occupied territory he landed and surrendered

I had to check to see if this was posted on the first of april..... but it wasnt.

Yeah, I'd have to say I would have dumped the rockets also.
