do you normally wash it at home or do you take it to the car wash (manual one) i was just wondering cos i always take mine to the happy wash and while i was there i always wondered if anyone else did?
and has anyone taken an old dub through a auto wash without getting soaked!

Some years back took the buggy to the carwash at Noosa northshore after going down some tracks that had some deep mud puddles. It was a hot day in summer me and my mates were filthy so thought it'd be a laugh, no roof on etc. Anyway there was no info anywhere that told us that the water was HOT!!! :jesus Needless to say we weren't allowed in the pub in that state but looking back it was funny.

we took the TinkerBeetle through the laserwash the other week on the way to the Herbie Drive in. Only a few drops down the inside of the doors.....got off easy, or so we thought.....when we got to the drive in and went to get jumpers etc out of the boot, we discovered that the boot seal doesn't. luckily the pillow on the top copped the worst of it :P

herbette gets washed by me at home on the grass so i can check her over for an damage etc that might have occured. she gets bathed once a week normally.

when it rains or at the surf...good spray wash there😁
HotRodMatt ·
Thanks to the drought and worsening water supplies haven't washed a car in over 6 months!
Bizarre ·
At home on the front yard.
I was forced by council to put rain water tanks in so i use that.
One bucket full to wash and one water can full to rinse.
Just under 8 Ls
helbus ·
where do you wash your dub?
In its most most private nether regions. 🙄
blutopless2 ·
wash our cars on the front lawn. Best results by doing it yourself.

at home about every 2 weeks before a race meet, and then about every 3 months it gets a really good wash and polish. I use the car lovers palces for washing the mud out of the guards after wet autocrosses, they don't like it much.
Purple Martin ·
Front lawn for now, but once I've removed those #$@%ing bodgy lid hinges and got the lid back down where it belongs I'll be able to take it to Car Lovers occasionally.

I wash mine at home. But I only use water in a bucket with an old cheesecloth. Then I just wring out the cloth and use it to dry her! I never hose it! I don't want any water getting into the door botttoms or any other nasty places that start to rust when water gets in and lays there.

Always done it at home but the sortage of water may do it at the laser wash but myself not through the auto wash

haha. another chance to post this pic.
i washed my car in the creek (unintentionally)...
apart from that one wash, it only gets degreased...

i think ive washed my car about twice since owning it. mud comes in thru gaps in my seals when i go thru a waterhole id hate to see what would happen in a car wash. our driveway is covered in dirt now from the wash after driving to jimna and back in the mud.
just hose. sponge with kitten wash stuff and hose off. we dont have a water shortage where i am so its cool.
mscabrio ·
Don't believe in washing cars. Always get a boy to do it. I might break a nail ........ PMSL

Hey helterskelter400 should of had a drag net out the back, could of brought home a feed😀
