More like:

The page cannot be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

Had to post it - it came up when I tried to reply!! Didn't want to be noticed or something........

twoguns ·

r jay, you gotta personalise that puter of yours. mine has this built in interpretation button. saves me plenty of time.😵‍💫

Quoll ·

I think AVD is getting hacked had exactly the same thing happan to me
the POS website it redirected to appears to have installed some spyware/virus ❗

looks like the webserver that the spyware is on has been hacked too :o

vanderaj ·

I'm having the same problems with the 404's. Very annoying. I'll see if anything has changed.

Andrew

Quoll ·

Oh btw it'll only redirect from Http://www.aussieveedubbers.com/
and then its only about 30% of the time for me could the be domain hijacking?

winerot ·

payback for last night

kustomkool ·

what happened last night.

penguin ·

Lots of us on here at the same time 🙂

helbus ·

No probs here.

Jay_1965vw ·

It told me the web page was unavailable...then when I clickrd on the link I got a virus warning Exploit_MhtRedir.gen...what's happeming

*did* ·

Yeah it was only redirecting to the wierd site sometimes, and only when you went to the main page aussieveedubbers.com.
I use mozilla firefox so I dont seem to have been infected by the spyware/virus 🙂

Robo ·

So what exactly happened?
Rob...

vanderaj ·

Okay, that exploit only affects you:

a) only if you use IE or the IE render engine (used in Outlook and lots of apps)
b) only if you don't patch your PC - it's fixed LAST YEAR for crissakes. Get the patch here:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms04-013.mspx

I've scanned our files using clamAV (which has the signature for this set of nasties) and we're clean. You didn't get it from here, but once you have it, it's like a chronic STD for your PC.

Once you're clean, *ALWAYS* patch your PC - turn on auto-update for twice weekly checks and auto-install those patches. Consider using Firefox and turn off pop-ups. If you're using them, make sure Outlook and Outlook Express are using the Restricted Zone and reset the Restricted Zone in IE's control panel. If you're using Eudora, just choose another product. If you're using something that basic, use Thunderbird instead.

Lastly, if that's all too hard, Apple sells Mac Minis for $799. Add some RAM and you'll be right.

http://www.apple.com/au/macmini/

and this month's APC has a full copy of Fedora 4 for $8.95 at your local news agent if you can't afford a Mac Mini.
