$$ and pics? How much more work to complete?

boof2332 ·

Whats happened Chris??? How come you are selling????

At least go to ems and get a module, they are only $115. I will help you get it started to sell it if you want.

Matt

squizy ·

That'd be good Mat. Interested in hearing yours and Jaks opinion.

boof2332 ·

I've seen the car, and from memory is pretty neat. The motor is the same as ours..from SSS and it just needs an ignition module to run, Not sure what exhaust etc he has made up although everything else has been done right...

I'm not far from there and can pop over with anyone who is unfamiliar with the setup.

Matt

VWCOOL ·

yeah, what does it need for finish/rego? I assume it is a 'round screen' car?

IN THE WEEDS ·

Paul.

71superbug ·

seagull ·

just put a price on it, looks like a good project

add the bits up , would save some one lots of time as it all there 🙂

2443TT ·

Go to a wreckers and pick up some ignitors from a toyota camry. We just got 5 from the wreckers here in Darwin for $50.

Toyota ignitors are more or less the same from the lexus v8, soarer, camry, seca, landcruisers etc, and are very good quality. Oh, and they'll work with a microtech ecu.

boof2332 ·

I use an EMS one. They are the cheapest new one you can get for about $115...that you know works. They are at Smithfield.

Not much to finish this baby.....1 week collecting little bits and pieces and then a weekend on the tools.

It will end up costing less than some vw performance engines.

Matt

IN THE WEEDS ·

ok how wants it $6500 you can take it

If anyone needs a hand with the injection, I can get this baby running....Become a microtech master I have. Its all the little things like fuel pumps, radiator, thermos etc that have been done that end up costing over $1000

Glen, you cannot win all arguments until you have your closing argument, so sell your 1916 engine and you will be able to buy one of the quickest cars you will ever own!

Something for everyone to ponder on this beautiful Friday.

me thinks vwcool will/does/ has in the past, owned quicker cars !!!

This would be a great project to buy.................maybe JVL should buy it, at least he could then start racing. :kiss

Started racing before you got out of your nappies Craig and built better cars.... and NEVER used coat hangers to hold my cars together. But thanks for the thought anyway.:kissJVLRacing

boof2332 ·

Now Craig, I said one of the quickest cars. With 16 pound of boost and sticky tyres that little super will do 0-100 in about 4 seconds and in the 12's for the quater. Thats engineered and street registered not like 90% of the cars at the drags last wed night.

I do not know what VWCOOL has owned or will own, although if thats no the quickest, it can not be far off....and all for under 10k

Hugs and kisses

Dude,

Ignition module $115

Radiator pipes from front to back, clamps, mounts and rubber hose....$200 tops.

Not sure if he has run fuel lines yet...and we can run it without a swirl pot initially to get it started.

Exhaust...a couple of bits of straight 3 inch 1x45 mandrel and 2x90 mandrels and pick a muffler. I have a dump pipe already... and ill weld it up.Total $250

A few other little things....not much. I would have to go and look at the car, although if you got the stuff together, apart from the time consuming bits like welding exhausts etc....you could be driving it in a weekend.

I'll show you all the microtech crap so you can sort it if there is a problem later, or have to pull the motor.

It wouldnt be more than $1000.

call me 0416115993

where is sawtell?

HI boof, Sawtell next to Coffs harbour.20mins from my door step.JVLRacing

type_one ·

Just saw Chris' ad for this. Man it is a bargain. He has done heaps of work on it already. I was proudly given first right of refusal and unfortunatley had to. Bloody house needs re piering. Can you say expensive.

Anyway if I had the cash I'd be on to this quicker than a brides nightie comes off on the wedding night.

People listen to Matt Boof2003 when he say stuff. He has done it and done it right. He has given Chris plenty of advice to get it to where it is.

Poor Chris. If you had of done it a bit quicker maybe you could be driving it on your P's???????

And Chris get a for sale up into the cars for sale section as there are plenty of people that don't come into this part of the forum often. Like me.

It will sell for sure. Don't budge off your asking price either as it is a bargain. If you hold it long enough I may be tempted to buy it and put the motor in the kombi. Now we're talking.

Good luck mate.

Hi,
Great Car! To good to split
If there are no takers over there, then I would look at shipping the whole thing to NZ, I am still trying to find a super to start such a project.
If you have any more photo's or spec sheet could you send them to jeff@greentech.co.nz

in the weeds:

are you aware that if you already have your Ps (before july 2005) you are not bound by the new laws.
only people attaining their Ps after july 2005 are turbo, supercharge and performance upgrade restricted.
also, on a more technical note, the turbo and supercharger restriction do not apply to diesel engines, or engines with less than a 1 litre capacity.
hope you have your Ps already! 😎

IN THE WEEDS ·

will swap for good registered ute of same value or cash adjustment if ute is of lesser value
