Split window on a 76 pan, fuel injected turbo, 17 inch simmons wheels,House of Colour Passion Purple with pearl top coat, white interior.

barls ·

15th million sbug with big mother of a motor ie 2.7 fuel injected with a 5 speed box and nice rims in ruby red. so im part way there just a few more thing to do

squizy ·

A sleeper lowered split with stock rims, running a turbo 911 setup with 5 speed.

HotRodMatt ·

A 1934 Tudor

I'd chop an original split bug!

kombikim ·

Ha ! an exact replica of my 54 but on an IRS pan with supadupa V-force motor ,
drive each to work on alternate days and confuse the hell out of some of the regular dickheads that give me grieff, pull in front of me etc

crewcabconnection ·

I'd figure out how to stick a VR6 into my bus, just to be oppositional to the EJ22 boyz.

akean1 ·

2tone 60's squareback or bug, or a frid on airbags, irs, disks all round rock solid 1776 motor, red leather interior (white piping), black brm's , a train horn as well as the stock one, navagatoin system, keyless entry and remote start, an alarm system that runs coil power to the crotch of the drivers seat (no false alarms🤪)
ultra light sound proofed teardrop trailor on the back with kick ass stereo. a glove box jammed full of cash for fuel, and see you all later!

greenbug70 ·

an oval widened slammed and tricked up to 2ltrs good enough to cream them jap copies

2443TT ·

Thats easy! 52 split, Semi-tube chassis. 996 a-arm front suspension and brakes, 993 rear suspension and brakes, 18x7's and 18x9's, G50, 2.8lt autocraft engine, twin turbo, autronic with traction control and anti-lag features enabled. :blah

I'd imagine there's potential for a 0-100 in less than 4 seconds there.

1303Steve ·

Hi

Im building it now.

Steve

Che Castro ·

^what he said. 🙂

Starbug ·

an all original (ha!) hebmuller.
red, with white leather interior, raking the weeds on gas-burners, with oh... some sort of big-arse vw engine.

i would drive it very very slowly too.

VDUBXTC ·

Mine would be something similar to Squizy.

Modified oval body to look like split body.
Modified to fit on full porsche floor and running gear.
Fi 3.0 ltr 5speed etc

Fossil ·

Got my 73 Bay and he's a beauty and besides him a 23 window split😂

ColumBUS ·

early bay panel van, graffiti paint job with black and orange furry interior, custom ORS drawer system, 80 ltr waeco fridge filled with draught, corner couch, sound system, dvd player, slammed and running porsche cups, being pushed by a supercharged 1916.

or a hebmuller with a full carerra kit...

BiX ·

Umm german look

Lightedned std floorpan, but with a cage for strength
full carbon fibre body
Mid mounted turbo porsche drivetrain (maybe from the new cayman?)
ceramic disks
dark metalic blue with hints of the carbon showing through
18's
custom double a-arm front and rear suspension

or something that i COULD have

mid engined super beetle with a WRX engine and GB, and some decent disks in and above blue.

Purple Martin ·

I have two dream dubs:

Samba, cream over red, stock and perfect
KG cabrio, red with cream doors, big motor, slammed with big low-profile shiny rims

ruckus ·

Kroozin_Kikko wrote:or a hebmuller with a full carerra kit...

HotRodMatt ·

HotRodMatt wrote:I'd chop an original split bug!
Revision.... I'd drive it a while then sell it to the UK or US! hahaha

vwtyp2 ·

one that costs nothing to run, no servicing , no maintenance.
get in, turn the key, it goes and nothing breaks.

Starbug ·

*pelts rotten tomatoes and other fermented fruits and vegetables at mscabrio*
ooooooh!!!! *grumble grumble*
there will be no altering the gentle nature of primary original classics... leave that to the more plentiful and available classics.

if anyone is about to baja a hebmuller, split window or oval... please stop and think right now !!! :P

Robo ·

Oh my god!..:repuke
Rob...

helbus ·

Volksrod style Beetle with rear split window installed, chopped and dropped. Dash smoothed to only have speedo.

Engine to have blue flames out the exhaust when gassed, both rear wheels light up in one second.

bus914 ·

Already have a kombi... and some fastys, so maybe i'd get a 911 baja.

bus914 ·

or a manx like this

akean1 ·

that buggy rocks! love the canopy

Harryman ·

akean1 ·

think you got the wrong person harryman, ive never had a karman:o

VWMA Editor ·

For me in sunny, stinking hot Qld summers, is aircon in my Bay Window. Have bought all the bits. Just waiting for them to arrive and then I'll start to play. My children and wife will be eternally grateful for changing the sauna on wheels into something civilized.

DIY-DUB ·

id go 1 of everything in every look i could think of, 1 for every day of the year, all faultless, and something to play with as well, but since im not greedy id settle on this for now...

Anthiron ·

hmm.....oval baja bug. heaps of travel, 2inch lift, big arse mudders, g50 box, huge type 4 turbo, 4 wheel porsche discs, full cage, racing buckets, harnesses, rear opening hatch with reserve fuel tank in the rear. storage box where back seat was. wood slat roof rack with spottie bar.

actually i dunno.....like unlimited money thats a hard question........id just make the best baja i could and still get it registered.

ryfoz ·

Im building my dream VW.
'79, V8, Auto Bay, Stock looker.

Wish list:
Slammed with Porsche Dials
Aircon + climate control,
Wooden Roof rack,
Custom canvas tent/annex,
Fridge between front seats,
Hand made jarrah wood panelling,
5 x Custom trimmed Holden Statesman buckets....
Much more but that is the start.....

YIOughta ·

any pics of the build?

ryfoz ·

YIOughta wrote:any pics of the build?
Non of the engine in so far. Just an empty interior and engine bay. they will be up when i get some decent pics.

theverybigtallman ·

i saw a 911 turbo the other day, on the deck with the fat brakes underneath it.

it wasn't hard to imagine a 60s beetle with the same treatment. i'd chop the roof, install a set of recaros, put in the 911 dialls and that would be about it aesthetically.

66deluxe ·

The bug I am building now, 66deluxe lowered IRS pan Narrowed front beam dropped spindles 944T brembo disc brakes on all corners whiteline adjustable swaybars adjustable konies, boxster wheels 914 tacho in original speedo position, 914 speedo, scat dragfast shifter, vw wooden sports steering wheel, 2.3 type 4 engine using 78.4mm DPR stroker crank, type 1 journal rods, 96mm pistons and cylinders, will go to 103mm bore later, 44x38mm valve heads, Fuel injection with twin throttle bodies, 911 cooling system, hydralic clutch on single side plate gearbox, but don't know what colour to paint it.

Starbug ·

yellow!

Golde60 ·

i m almost finished building mine, but if i had infinite time and money, i would drop the body onto a late 80s 911 to get the best of both worlds.

running gear, brakes, a/c etc but with all the hard work thats gone into my bug.

sleeper too

ColumBUS ·

give me a couple of days and my dream car will be on the way!

t2 ·

steves rhdbdddpanel, or his rhddlxbd , or his original 27,000 mile single cab , but almost happy with what i got just a few things to do like fit a 4 inch narrowed front end with wide 5 discs from csp , change the straight axle to irs , fit some early wide 5 beetle rims 4.5 wide fronts with 175/55/15 tyres and rears with stock 165 r15s or maybe some 175/70/15 tyres .
if i couldnt have any of that i would love to own dave beckers 66 camper.

sean68 ·

Mine is a 62 ragtop bug running erco's and a 2276 stroker motor with 48 IDA's
or one of the pro stock drag bugs from the U.S.
or Alan Fore's prostock notchback drag car which he just put on the market to sell :cussing
anyone got 26000 U.S. spare :duh

DIY-DUB ·

good call jak, im borrowing some inspiration for my car from yours, and a few others on this forum, just dying to get mine started and finished, sigh i want the unlimited money, hey wait, you've had the unlimited money for 14 years! wanna share some? lol

Jak Rizzo ·

Your car is never finished, I have a wish list for it still, but it is very close. I did everything on my car but paint it & even then I used the barter system to get it done. U could easily build my car again for 10grand.
regards
Jak

Spook ·

Got a 73 bus, stock as a rock.
It's battle scared & seen better days (a lot like it's owner).
I've driven 900 kms on three cylinders & 100 kms without top gear.
BUT, it's failed to get me home ONCE in 13 years.

What more can you ask??

pete wood ·

I know beetles are soooo derivative, but anyway. Here goes. Early 60s, with a very big motor with forced induction of some kind, maybe Subie but maybe aircooled. Air con and a nice stereo. Classic lines but big scary power for wasting idiots in clubsports. :thumb

56astro ·

An early Notch

big brakes

big-ish wheels and tyres

all the good stuff to make it handle

and a Subaru H6 6 cylinder mated to a Porsche 5 speed
