Other special Porsches at Queensland Raceway over the August 6-7 weekend include a former European hillclimb title winning 1959 RS-K Spyder, an ex-Le Mans 904 sports car from the early 1960s, the ex-John Latham racing 934 Turbo from the late 1970s, Victorian Rusty French’s three 650HP-plus Type 935 racing models (including the car that won two Australian GT Championships in 1982/83 in the hands of Alan Jones and French respectively), a racing 962 sports car from the mid-1980s and the 911 GT3 RS that won its class in the 2002 Le Mans 24 Hour race.
Its actaully porsche and VW this weekend. I think there are a few vw race cars going out for the day. Should be a good day. I think buggy boy is on the organizing comettie for this event.

Attached is the actual GT3 rs that won LeMan in '02.
It ran a 11.8 @ 123mph spinning in 3rd gear!!
It'll be awesome to see this thing around QR.

Well i think we are all going in the show, which gates open at 830 i believe. Not sure about the racing though.

Show/display entrants can arrive between 7 - 9am on Sunday. Racing starts from 8.30am on Sunday.
There's talk of a slow parade lap for VW and Porsche on the Sunday, but it is yet to be confirmed.
I and the Double Cab will be there.
Should be a good days entertainment.

I was out there today putting the FJ through scrutineering. There is a record number of cars competing (over 300 entries) with a couple of beetles running as well. There is a Regulairity race with 25 Porsches in it. Promises to be a great weekend. I took a few pickies of Rusty French's Porsches, they look much better in the flesh...

No, Herbie still has the motor out, but due to my neck injury cant drive anyway.. Herbie is running at the Leyburn Sprints in 2 weeks time.. Pop on up..
