Quality of new Brazil steering boxes

Does any body have any experience with, or comments to make, on the quality etc of new steering boxes? I am considering installing one to replace the 10-times rebuilt one in my own car but I won't bother if they are regarded as crap...

im putting one in my super bug this week and going to sawtel .will have to let you know .I have my fingers crossed they are ok.

I asked these guys and they said they only had LHD ones. Is that where you bought yours Karmann Kombi?

We fitted a TRW one made in Brazil to our 68 beetle about 3 months ago and so far so good. Still nice an tight.

OOps,yeah forgot about lhd,yeah i have a TRW too i think,new 4 yrs ago still nice.Its probly like all there stuff inconsistant,some good some crap.🤓

Did you just plonk it on? Was it adjusted properly at the factory and full of oil or did you have to do a little work?

George at classic veedub in rydalmere has or had them. Andrew dodds fitted mine and it seems ok .

Yep, just fitted it. Checked the levels first and they were fine.
