56 fuel tank-can someone tel me how many ltrs it holds

Hi Guys
Can someone tel me how many litres does a 56 beetle fuel tank hold and how many litres left in reserve?

i would guess 40 litres total. reserve not sure, 4-5 maybe?

I guess that too, would like to know exactly how many it hold. Thanks

Most fuel tanks for beetles were 8.8 IMperial gallons.
with 1 imp gallon in reserve.

which equals approx 40 litres total
and 5 litres in reserve.....

If You leave the fuel tap in the reserve position You will run out of fuel... You need to have the fuel tap in the Normal position which is straight UP...
45 degrees is OFF
90 degrees is reserve.....

Where is the fuel tap that Lee speaks of??
