Saw a news report the other day about VW saying that if its current workers at the plant in Germany dont all agree to a pay cut, they will not be building their new "pick up' (from memory) there - they will take it off-shore. They want to drop the production costs by $1000/ vehicle!
I for one think its a bit rough to expect the workers, who are already under the pump and the plant is only at 75% capacity, to bare the brunt of VW's profit margins! They are the biggest car manufacturer in Europe and would certainly be garnished with a generous number of very very very well paid execs etc etc etc etc... and the company is still generating significant profits - so why squeeze the little guy!
The peoples car, forgetting the people...馃憥
