yeah if we are thinking about the same guy i bought it, and then it didnt fit on my car :duh so now it is back is his possession

The one I saw had a rather large arm on it. Had run into a problem with a so-called type 3 mirror. As you screwed (tried) the mirror in, did the mirror foul on the door? These are the ones you can try looking for.

if it has a long arm on it, it may be a yankee squareback right hand side mirror.

The long arm version of the mirror in the pic is for an L bug. Went through the same process recently for my fasty.
You can get aftermarket mirrors also that fit OK.
