I saw a neat conversion for fixed Qtr Vents on a pre 67 Beetle at Boris's Picnic Day.

They were modified 68 on Qtr vents fitted in fixed position to a pre 68 Beetle.

Mike at Vintage VeeDub knows how it is done I think.

thx calcool but its hot now so dont want them fixed so air comes in but just missing the locks....anyone got them??

Hi Karmen,

I think Classic Veedub sell repro Qtr vent latches, but it is a mamoth job to say the least to replace them.

The only option is to keep an eye out for some good complete second hand 1/4 windows at wreckers and at swap meets.

The other alternative is some security qtr vent locks that you can get from SCAT, they latch over the glass and stop people breaking in thru the latch.

I may have a couple handy at home.

hows $30 each side will even change the latches from pitted r to nr perfect chrome
