Just wondering what would be the biggest wheel dimmensions i could go for (my 75 superbug)without being stupid. I understand for aftermarket wheels i will need to change the hubs and that, but i dont really want to alter guards Thinking of dropping her but not slamming her. How hard is a set of 17s gonna be?

they are pretty hard, and to get 17's you will need new hubs and drums. Also without modifying the guards or narrower struts you will have problems fitting much more 6.5inch wide wheels in the front. Beetle aftermarket wheels mostly come in 15 by 5.5 inch. I run (custom made steelies) 15 by 6 fronts with 195/60r15 fronts and 15 by 7 with 205/60r15 rear and they jsut fit (rub the guard ever slightly). Most fo the supers you see with big wheels run the smaller struts and also have chagned the stud pattern and played with offset.
