Me and the old man willl be there racing the Saturday State round. Just spoke to the organisers. 75 cars entered for both days of the event. Should be a good event.

Nathan, how did your budget racer go against the big $$$ fuel injected stroker of Bens ?
VDUBXTC ·
both Nathan and his oldman john 😀 ran strong on saturday.
don't think they went on sunday though.
Ben broke several CV's again.
Noth sure how Heath and his mrs went on sunday, but they where strong on saturday.

all the VW's did really well on sunday! Grant broke a CV on sunday too but was fixed in time for the next run which was blistering.

I went really well. I managed to win the class (3J Imp Pro 1601-2000cc) and the state title aswell. Very Happy!!!! The only VW's that ran were in 3J under 2L (6 in total). The competition for the class was pretty close with the next in class behind me being a datson 1200 (0.3 seconds - Steve brydie), followed by Ben (0.2 seconds behind the dato), followed by Heath (I think 0.20 secs behind ben, dont quote me) then Grant. Im not to sure what time Grant pulled, but he was over a sec behind before they blew the CV. Heaths wife (Christine) had a blinder to be fastest lady driver......well done! and my old man finished behind Christine
I dont know about the Sunday as I didnt compete (if anyone knows could they post them). To pissed celebrating.:beer. An interesting point though, while I was talking to Ben about motors he told me that the 1916 engine he built for heath in his beetle, although didnt produce as mush HP, produced more bottom end torque then his strocker 19...something which I found amazing.
Anyway. The beetles smoked them..........

those two commentators were the rudest pricks ever. anything that wasn't an MG was bagged out mercilessly, but even the slow MG's they gushed over.

Sweeeeet job Nat
and to think all from an engine with a 25,000km warranty. that's about 23500kms more warranty than some.
Makes you want to weep really ........................
