Just buy the endplates and build your own Neil.

Good thinking ! I do that ! I feel Good now there over $400.00 !

Yeah I made my own being a cheap bastard......:thumb

Pete , can you give us a run down on whats in the inside of these systems please , are they full of packing ? cheers neil

Just an outer casing with a perferated tube through the middle. There is packing between the outside of the perf tube and the outer casing. Just like a straight through muffler but you fit a plate on the end so you can screw on extra baffle plates. More plates means there is more area for the gasses to get out = louder, less plates means less gaps between the plates = quieter.
Have a look at the suppertrapp site, not sure of the address?

If you want to know: Had one on my 1916cc Beetle in the early 90s. They are shite... By the time you reduce the plates to be quiet enough to be legal, you knock 500rpm off the top due to the back pressure. And that was WITH a small glasspack muffler...

Yeah ur right, I would only recommend them if ur not after peak performance on the road but want to be able to easily modify on the spot for say the drags etc.

One U-shaped muffler clamp will do that...!
