This is one sweet yoot, one that you will always regret selling...and im having a dejevu (spelling) moment...I remember last time you sold a kombi josh...
wiseoldub ·
i know, but i am kinda hoping that if i get amy sorted out that i might be able to get another split to drive on weekends. very seriously considered your blue bus actually!! timmy sellin some porsche rims an all! if i finish the house in time and have enough left over it could happen!
wanna get into dsk too!
amy never let me put anything in the ute anyway. now i got the hilux to cart my tools around in, i won't need it as much. you are dead right though......regret like losing a limb!:cry
CAFFINEPUSHERMAN ·
i guess bay utes are like assoles at the moment i thought they were kinda getting rare :cry:cry:cry
wiseoldub ·
yeah, i looked for 2 years to find this one and its a 72 as well. extra rare and cool! early shape...late running gear!
oh well, gotta happen some day.
should be doing the photo shoot over the weekend.
btw, forgot to mention that the paint guys did a full rust treatment to her. she is lathered in fish oil and rust preventative, so no worries with cancer!
any questions don't hesitate to ask!!!
cheers josh

I sold my 72 last year cause I was going OS for a while, ended up comming back after a few months, and not REALLY regret it.....72 Crew Cabs are the business, best of both worlds ... keep it, Just get the bank to buy the T3....keep the Crew, you'll defo miss it and regret loosing it.
wiseoldub ·
might do that cos we just got our tax back and sold the type three so we might be right with the t3 now. i know i would miss her too!
time will tell!

Dudes, this thing looks so nice with the sweet canopy on, and i have seen it at valla with a family sleeping in the back.. so practical.. very clean uterus..
byronbus ·
Does look good...Byron Hire should signwrite it and use it for advertising...
waltermitty ·
Any pics of the canopy?
M
wiseoldub ·
will take some with the canopy on, but won't have a day off til next weekend. sorry. it is custom with roll up sides that have internal mozzie screens in it to let air in but not bugs! and its almost one way so you still have privacy!
cheers josh

Nice look'n Dual cab:thumb
wiseoldub ·
yeah bruce, when glen gave me the work truck and i didn't get excited, he offered me the oportunity to sign write the twinny and keep it as the work truck, but we load those hilux's too much to spoil my lovley old girl!
so who want's her?
karmen ·
IT SOUNDS NICE FOR FRASER IS SPESCH WID DA canopy
trade in Golf GLD ??? $3000
low ks cd mags centrla lock etc ?
wiseoldub ·
sorry not interested in the golf.
offers are welcome, but this rig is too good for stupid "give ya twenty bucks" stuff! she makes guys with sweet splitty's interested which is an indication of quality!
[could even look at swapsy's for a splitty if anyone wants]
[[or splitty project and cash adjustment??]
oh yeah........bump
wiseoldub ·
i guess everyone is saving for xmas eh?
bump
wiseoldub ·
these are one of the best designed kombi's around and no one wants one! what has the world come too? might have to keep her! lower her and get some 16 " rims for her!!! that would be the business!
wiseoldub ·
don't let this go over seas guys...... or worse, to cronulla!
phoques1 ·
How many K's on the clock both engine and vehicle. ie since engine rebuild or new power plant installed. What does "1776 big fat" mean. In lay terms what's the engine size and gearbox. What is their condition. Not now, but could I have a look at some interiors some time in the near future.
NigeType3 ·
Mate id fly over and take it off ya hands no probs (thanks for sending the pics to) but I was relying on money from my house but as usuall the bank has under valued it and I have just enough to finish it of I was hoping for 10 more grand and pic this up off ya but they won't come to the party.
I do love it though
wiseoldub ·
thanks for the replys guys! got a few people lookin this weekend so we will see what happens! the motor aint that old. was rebuilt by a guy before me that hadnot even run it in and then i freshened it up , put the alternator on it and the exhaust system and the oil cooler, then fitted it up! i have done about 20 thou in it and done a valve adjustment every 5 thou with an oil change at the same time. 1600 gearbox is good with a spare 2 ltr to come with it as an up grade if the 2 ltr ever falls over!
hope this all helps!
cheers josh
wiseoldub ·
still on the market, had 3 guys booked in to look and only one turned up [typical byron] so second chances guys! make an offer on this special girl. the guy who did turn up was cool but wanted a 76 instead. i prefer the earlier shape and with the 72's you get the best of both worlds! early shape and late running gear!
so who is up to it?
cheers josh
byronbus ·
Saw you drive past test driving the ole girl at lennox on sat, is a sweet old truck
wiseoldub ·
yeah, gave her legs a stretch. what were you in, didn't see the ute? got the message and happily passed it on to the test pilot.! surprised he didn't grab it. he kept saying 'drives great, handles well' 'good floor pan''looks like a good rig', then, nah, got my eye on a 76 with a 2 ltr in sydney. i wouldn't go a late bay over an early one!!!! my choice i guess , but the earlier the better i reckon.[although i gotta say 72 is the best!!! discs and all!!]
so who wants her then?
wiseoldub ·
el bumpo!
offers anyone?
vwombat ·
What's the deal? Why sell this to get a bus? Isn't a dual cab essentially a bus when it comes to passengers? Or are you guys such prodigious breeders that you need the full 8 seats? Get some weatherproof box for the kiddyjunk in the rear and keep this beauty. no comprende?!?
By the way - happy new year!
wiseoldub ·
hey wombat,
yep, the breeding has overtaken us with a 6 year old, ten month old and now another due next july! just can't leave her alone!!! my wife was having trouble getting all the shopping in the cab area as well as the kids and pram when it rained! i've got a wicked camper canopy for the back but she doesn't like to drive with it on because of the lack of visability apparently! got her a t3 and she loves it so i don't like looking at the twin cab just sitting there so i would rather sell her to see her get driven and enjoyed!
the rig is great but needs to get driven so i am open to offers if someone thinks they are ready for this great ute!!!
cheers josh

wiseoldub ·
should get a pic up soon. back at work tomorrow so will do my best. got a guy coming this week so will take piccys and post then! otherwise old fashion ' come over and see' works well! unless you are interstate of course!!
been quiet on the sell with chrissy time of year but getting calls a bit now! she is a great example and needs to be driven as i don't have the time with my renovation and wife and kids!! [no.3 due in july]
cheers all
