Want to see museum, art gallery, bot. gardens

Any other tips?

Also want to go a few hours out, matbe wineglass bay ????? and stay for 3 or 4 days mooching around the local area. want to buy some wine, some curios, wind down, relax and let the boy run free.

All recommendations welcome.

We are along way from Tassie (WA) but spent nearly 4 weeks there in March/April this year and at the moment are planning a trip back in April 2006.
You will love it!!!!

i can recommend one winery but its right in the centre of the island near cradle mountain but they do some great berry/grape wines. its called wilmont hills and its run by two brothers. ive got the address some where as ive got to order again after i got broken in to at the start of the year and they stole all my wine

heheheh youll have to walk a couple of hours IN to Winegalss bay dude. you prolly mean Coles Bay!

Salamanca markets on Saturday AM followed by a drive up to Mt Wellington stopping at ferntree pub for lunch.
At least half a day out at Richmond and to the Coal River valley wine area.
Down into the Huon valley, paddle boats and jetboat rides at Huonville, the Airwalk at Geeveston and Hastings Caves and a swim in the Thermal pool.
Port Arthur,
Cadbury chocolate factory tour during the week.
Harbour cruise
Drive down to and climb the the shot tower.
Some of the best sushi an sushemi anywhere in the world at the little Jap eatery at Muirs on the Hobart docks.(Victoria Dock)

The list just goes on and on.

have fun

If you can get to Stanley it is worth it.
We planned a day trip from Devonport and stayed 3 days.

Also the The Don and it's railway are not to be missed-especially the workshop!!!

This talk of Tassie has got us going-definitely going over to see Targa next year (25th-30th April)

Hey tassupervee.. where are you in the Huon? My wife is from glen Huon and we've got a shack at Cradoc. the Mother in law and all her relo's are scattered all over the huon. We'll be moving back for good one day, you'll see me crusing up the grove straight in the notch.

jenz58 ·

..there's a YHA hostel in Coles Bay if the budget is tight....Freycinet is well worth the visit...it's stunning...the best water I've ever swum in I swear

Definitely do Salamanca Market..a must.....the missus will luv you even more 😏

Port Arthur on the way to, or back from Freycinet...there is also a YHA hostel there in one of the old cottages....if you have a car it's good

Heya Softie.
Just cruise up the Huon Hwy, past the Grove shop towards Hobart about 800 meters up the hill and there is the Sleeping Beauty lookout on the left. Thats my driveway in there.

Always welcome!

You'd better be quick, the Tassie govt just banned them!!

YIOughta ·

What good brothers - so now its only legal to run a bad brothel - I spose its a good bet Volksfolks knows where they are too then!! haha

koolkarmakombi ·

Umm with the darling wife and child a brothel visit is probably not on the cards. What are the salamanca markets?

YIOughta ·

The markets are an institution! Right nest to Constitution dock in Hobart - well worth a looksy! The old buildings are pretty bloody cool!

Im heading down in 3 weeks for some R&R myself!! 👍
