when did W decklids stop?

and how can you date one?

what characteristics changed through the years?

58. i think the nose is the only difference. you also get the 'h' pattern on the rear appron. not part of the w lid but is part of the overall characteristic/effect.

Take it out for a coffee first and see if it's keen...
Then maybe an informal dinner at a cafe`...
Walking dates are good... A walk in the park.. Then, if you don't like the ways things are going, you can just Keep Walking....
Don't do the movies for a while... You don't want it leaving rust stains on the seat if it gets excited...

the shape of the spring mount is different.
pre '55 have angled sides, post 55 are straight.

my lid has no hinges anymoregood old rust)(, or spring up the top... it has the T handel to open/lock with a keyhold on it...my popesnose is fu@#ed... so it's no help, bu i wanna know what year the lid is, so i can get a decent nose🙂

popes nose only come on split beetles.
otherwise it is just a licence plate light housing.

hey ad - can i grab the beading at DoVW?

i got the rust repaired tody at school, beaters did a good job..im in the process of repairing the dents myself.. where the licence plate light thingy goes, it is attatched by 3 rods i guess... with wing nuts holding it to the lid..

oh, and i kinda two toned my bug today too 😀

August was the model change over not April.
