Wow, that is really great of your son to do that...nice complimetn to your parenting skills

StenGuns ·

Well done mate.. My eldest is 16 on 12/12/05 and we are doing him up a 67 beetle while he is on exchange in France.. Your story made me happy!

Da Wiz ·

So let me get this straight, you have tears in your eyes, because your son is a fantastic lier...

God help the little bugger :P

ColumBUS ·

well thats a depressing way of looking at it wiz... i think its sweet that he covered so his sisters suprise was kept intact, and what a suprise itll be when she wakes up to that in her driveway!

bugeyedbabe ·

hehe...

I reckon the sons putting in an order for his own 18th....hes checking the classifieds as we speak. Its great ur son has such a good imagination he can just jump right in there with an excuse for anything...remember it when he 'borrows' the car...lol

Nah, its all good. He really was just trying to continue to keep a great secret. Great work.

pod ·

so was she totally stoked❓

buzzbug ·

Thats so cool.
Good to see another bug owner/driver.
What a great ol' man.

Fossil ·

Well done Wally - what's with the pics not showing up - 🤘

Fossil ·

ah now I see the pics - rock-on:blush

hipichic ·

What an awesome surprise for her!
Heres to a happy birthday and many happy beetling years for her 🙂
:beer:beer:beer:beer

Dasdubber ·

Many happy returns for your daughter - I bet she was stoked!

Make sure you get a bumper on the back end soon though! (not having a dig at her driving...I was hit twice up the rear of my bug (both times when I was stationary!)....easier to replace a bumper than a rear apron and guards 🙂

penguin ·

Nice

very well done to all involved and best wishes for her future VW driving 🙂

Doug Sweetman ·

Ah, that brings back memories 🙂 not of the good save - I've always been a sucker for letting secrets slip, but about the '67 beetle as a first car, done up by Dad (and my help of course).

Nice bug and I'm sure the presentation was a happy occasion for all.

ColumBUS ·

its so good to see she went to a good owner...
sent the papers today via express wally, ive already gone ape at australia post!

winerot ·

thanks daniel
it was a great surprise how we did it i dont know but monday morn
i gave mandy a steering wheel jann gave her 53 stickers dylan gave her
a model 53, you know she was excited about that stuff alone till she looked
out the front door to the 73 in the driveway. crying laughing screaming all at the same time yep its worth a little bit of wise deception by my son to see the end result.
the money to buy this is her money & when my son is ready he has a very healthy bank account to acquire a type 3 wagon.

VWFREAK ·

Nice one, ya gotta love kids.
