Leons just redid my gearbox. U2U me for detail on cost (can't remember, best to ring and get a quote)

they do a std rebuild i thnk wihich is basically a rebuild of all parts, and new synchro, if you need new gears, diff's or any other non standard parts thats extra...........

Bizarre ·

Unless you want some thing special or have a special motor the best/economical solution is another 2nd hand box.

An IRS box either 3.88 or 4.38 can be bought for $150 - $250.

You will pay more than this for a rebuild

Yes you will. i wanted custom 3rd and also stonger diff's. IT will cost you alot more than for a second hand box........

I had my SSP tranny ovehauled by Lawrence at German Autos in Geebung.

New reverse gear
gaskets
seals
used 4th gear set from kombi
labour (dismantle, clean, facing off selector housing)

All for less than $800. Lawrence does heaps of buggy boxes and knows his stuff. He came highly recommended to me.
