Early and Late Bug Bonnet differences?

Hey all, whats the easiest way to tell an early bug bonnet/hood say from an oval to that of a later bug?

I know its something to do with a raised and flat badge area. But which is which?

easiest way i find is that pre 67 they are round and 68 onwards they are a square cut near the bottom of the lid/bonnet..
look at other member rides, the difference is easy to spot..

68 onwards have a raised badge area. As for pre 67 and back as far as oval, well someone else is gonna have to fill us in on that one.

pre 60's badge area is flush with the rest of the bonnet.
61 to 67 have a round raised section for the badge to sit on, but where still the same overal shape.
68 to last model had a flat more squarer nose on the bonnet.
and the super bug, well they are just plain different

The superbug bonnet would be heaps shorter due to the windscreen being curved.

There are also little id marks for the different years for example a 55 bonnet has 3 bolt holes on the passenger side as the bonnet stand doesn't bolt up to the bonnet hinge.

A 54 bonnet has the same 3 bolt hole but also has a traingle plate under the top vw badge. I know this because I am looking for one. If anyone has one or two of these please let me know.

I can get a 51 bonnet at the moment but I dont know the differences... anyone?

Only the L (1303) bonnent

the S (1302) would be longer but rounder

There are 2 different L bug bonnents as well
there is the round indent one and the rarer (and better looking) squarer one
