Well my kombi adventures have been cut short, driving home from work last tuesday morning I fell asleep at the wheel and missed a corner in the road. I hit two trees doing 90 kph then rolled down a 3 metre ditch before sliding to a stop on my roof 馃槩
Unfortunatly the kombi is a complete write-off, the only panel not to be damaged was the engine bay lid, and my two (brand new) tail lights are still ok.......

It's impressed the hell outa me.... apart from being very bent and dinted the main structure held up very well, you can see big folds in the cab floor where its crumpled from the front being pushed in- 1970's crumple zones!
Its a bit dissappointing tho cause I had nearly finished doing her up, and she's not insured. I'm just glad I didn't hit anyone else.

I feel your pain. I fell asleep at the wheel while going to work four weeks ago and now have a titanium rod in my back. No VW was destroyed luckily inmy case.

wow, once again amazed by the structural strength of these old dubs, real bummer about the write-off but it really says something about the car that you were able to walk away after an impact at that speed.
