I would like to get my hands on one of these coins in mint condition.

Are there any of you who might be willing to help me out with this?
I would greatly appreciate it.

Do you collect coins?
In my latest 54 I bought I found a little package tucked away in the back. It is 2 coins wrapped in tissue paper and I looked them up on the net and found they were early Australian Sovereigns. I took them into a coin collector and got them valued and now dont really know what to do with them. I thought they might be a good omen so I might put them back where I found them when the cars finished or sell them. Interested?

I saw them on e-bay, but didn't want to pay $15 (plus shipping) for a $1 coin.
I figured that most of you, on this site, lived in Ausralia and could help me out.

you probably wont buy it for less than that. The coins arent sold by face value. Not even from new. These are a special mint. (you probably know that) Our regular $1 coin is made from an aluminium bronze alloy, whereas these are sterling silver. You can buy them here... but they are $20. http://www.centercoin.com/australian_perth_mint/australian_lunar_silver_bullion_coin.htm

I buy proof sets of coins each year $3.85 face value, for aroud $70-80. I saw a yr2000 set go on ebay a couple of days ago for $205. not a bad return. pitty I cant afford to buy truckloads of them, would be good investment strategy 🙂 Ebay prices are usually less than 'catalog' value.
