High tech VW's to the rescue??

Ah, you can always pick a VW driver in a group.

Was in some training for work yesterday, we were programming a PLC system and running it on some new Ubute wizbang gear we are using at work. Needless to say it all turned pear shaped. An hour of hair pulling and we discovered were were in desperate need of a 120ohm resistor, where do you find one at 6pm at night?
No luck finding one, so I ducked outside, grabbed the multimeter and started searching, and sure enough the idle jet solenoid in the carbie (type 3) had a resistance of 100ohm, good enough to run our test. Hooked it up and away we went!!!

Ah it makes you feel good when a trusty old VW saves the day, even with modern electronics

It is sad that I also know what that means. Have not touched a PLC in nearly 10 years.

But I have to admit it does show the good old Aussie ingenuity we are famous for. I got our kombi going once with gaffa tape, and another time I got my motorbike going with a baseball cap?

if in doubt ask a wiki....Google....pppffff

I've found that handing over money is the best way of getting my bus running...so what some people have found another way.

Whoops, slightly different technology boys!
More like what 71EJVan knows of.
More specifically it was "bus" technology (not the ones you catch to work though)
I guess it was appropriate that it's German equipment, so lucky the part came from a German car 🙂

Don't worry Helbus, if you got the Subi running you'd be able to handle this stuff!!

Beats the old Telemecanique TSX17 any day!!

I once fixed a broken points spring with a bit if bamboo stem and some stripped copper wire..... Got me home!

Brendan

We should start a new threat.

Your best bodgy fixes that worked.

Andy ·

Better maybe??
I do love the old Tele gear though, good industrail strenght stuff.
Starting a thread of dodgy fix's would blow out of proportions, we are VW's drivers after all.

How about a push bike pump to replace a broken fuel pump?
