The second half of that vid is floating around somewhere. Happened in a Japanese GT race. The Ferreri drivers name IS (not was) Tetsuya Ota. He does get out of the car (medium / well done) with his visor melted off etc. He then staggers about a bit before gravity gets the better of him and he falls on his noggin.
He sued the pants off the organisers for how long the marshals took to get to him (50 seconds) and got one metric arseload of Yen in compensation.
Crappy way to get rich if you ask me.
A search on his name brings up a few articles about the smash.

there's part 2 of that particular incident in which the driver was pulled out of the wreck still alive!
He suffered burns and his helmet melted to his face! He sued the track officals for the way the incident was handled!
CAMsent me the 2nd part and has all the info on the incident.
