Hopefully the photos will help and inspire someone in some small way. There is a light at the end of the tunnel
Rather than use old parts on this bus, most are new, window catches, polished stainless bumpers, lights, steering wheel, Samba trim, Safaris, pop outs etc etc

Resto's are so much easier when your not having to pay full price for all the parts you need either!

When I did the 58 it was before I started CVWP. Luckily all I needed was
Sill cost me then $130 without drips - CVWP $48.00 with drips made by Schofields
Centre Chassis section cost me then $150.00 without holes and cut outs - CVWP $89 with all cut outs and holes
You do the sums mate, its cheaper for everyone
Beetle Door post repair, large with hinge bracket would cost $30.00 at least - CVWP $19.95
why would you bother cutting bits out of a donor car??

its good you are bringing more of that stuff in roy. and youre a bastardo for having 2 split dcabs in your carport... even bigger bastardo for posting a pic of em.
offering the panels you do should save a lot from being ripped or having to spend too much with other pro bodgey repairers.

I have missed the 58 so much I found another for resto
The panel started on it 3 days after I bought it, with any luck she might be up and running for Valla
very very nice man. i'm not a great fan of kombis, but i do love seeing any top notch restore on a vw, specially when attention to detail is given. well done, and keep up the good work.

hey CVW,
Nice busses. What do you call that trim on the blue bus that starts bottom centre and runs out down both sides below the window line? And is it expensive/difficult to get?
Dan

that trim is a 'deluxe waist band'. it was a feature of the microbuses. the one pictured is a creative remanufactured and look the deal for sure. you can also get the matching sill trim (run at bottom of body between wheels) and the bumper trim.
pic'd below is a sample.
