That's really odd Nectar. I had 6 emails yesterday from someone on the forum to my hotmail account all for 181k, with no images or anything on them. I haven't met this person, but know them. I wonder if the forum has a problem instead?

I didn't have anything yesterday in my email, but will check tonight when i get home.
Maybe a good idea is to not have your email addy available to users, just use the u2u on the forum instead?

usually the from address on a virus email isn't the real from address, most viruses use a fake from address at random from the infected computers address book, so often there is no point giving some one a hard time when it most likely wasn't their fault at all.
I use mailwasher (http://www.mailwasher.net/)its free! Iit enables you to check email content with out getting infected, bonus is that you can also send back spam as if it has bounced from a non-existent email address.

Im not having a go at anyone, just pissed off this has happened.....I Have very good anti virus protection, as this is my work pc, butI opened it as the warning came up on the screen.....ThankfullyIt didnt corrupt my programs and systems I run, just my Word and Excel Sheets that were also open at the time....(this is where all my work is on! reports and the like!) Dropped it off to the office where the tech looked at it and got it right, then got it back this arvo when I posted this thread.

Viruses truly do suck and always happen at the most inconvenient time. I'm a tech too, it usually my job to clean up virus ridden pcs 🙂
You got off lucky though eh!
Anyone remember the Cookie virus, back in the "old" days?
helbus ·
Chernobyl, Magellan, DaVinci. Where have those days gone?
Gone along with Telemate, Hyperterminal, BBS's, 1200baud modems. 🙂

It seems someone has a worm in their system, which is doing the rounds of their address book. Just because the virus said oildrippers does'nt mean thats where its from, thats the thing with the internet just when you sort your shit out, you cop another virus. Damo, im sure Sam didnt think you were sending out viruses, I think his memory of everyones email address' is just a bit faded, like an old oval.Shit Happens.
