Beerboy ·

Anyone got any leads where I can get a monkey bike / dax from, preferably cheap, so obvioulsy don't mind a bit of work on it either.

nice little project ;-)

What is your budget?
As Monkey Bikes have gone through the roof! A Kawasaki KV75 can set you back $500 to start if all the part sare there.

Beerboy ·

I was kinda thinking less than 500 bucks for a project, but I haven't seen many over here at all

DubCrazy ·

Very few and far between here fella... if you find one i doubt it will be in the price range your looking at....

steff......................

Beerboy ·

yeah that was exactly what I was coming to think.
seen a few cheap on ebay uk but not that many here at all

I'm not sure what the "official" definition of a monkey bike is, but there are 4 in my garage right now (not kawasakis, just those "no name " type ones.....
shame your not in melbourne, my mr works for an importer of the mini racing bikes.

Beerboy ·

or me really mate, I am interested in the old ones from the 70's. To go with the kombi. dax, charly, st50, st70,
not really sure of makes.

There was also a chink copy I believe, is that what you got?

melb isn't that far ;-)

True 70s monkey bikes are hard to find here. Im restoring a honda dax70. Its going to be mostly original but with a hot motor and lotsa chrome, it wll be a good accessory for my kombi.

looks like we are all coming to the same conclusions then, where did you get yours from then? thanks

DubCrazy ·

Bring a couple of them over from the uk fella.... there are some real bargains to be had, i can lay my hands on a fair few if needs be.

get a container and away you go.... always share shipping with other people to ease the cost ....
