Fires in VIC

Anyone affected, or know of anyone affected by them?

My uncle is near Anakie (Geelong way) and he's staying at his property, but my aunt evacuated. Have just heard on the radio up to 20 homes have been lost in Anakie and the town is devastated by the fire, but I'm yet to find out if my uncle's place is ok. Bit of a worry.

Hope no-one here is near any fires, there's too many burning.

That's terrible! I hope your Uncle is ok, make sure you keep us updated.
Luckily I don't know anyone affected. I hope everyone else is ok and out of harms way too.

:o Hi Pretty Blue Bug..............fire went through my front paddock (stuffed my front fence) after jumpiing the road.......burnt about 20 acres of grass..........bbq'd 2 sheep .... then moved on to the neigbours property on the south side (again stuffing the fence) and burnt out a area of "special interest" (about 50 acres) comprising native vegitation....... (some would say thats good....others would say thats bad).....anyway no buildings were "lost"......but hey its not over yet.......Australia day has a forecast of 40+C.

But hey..........as I have said before.....'Its good when its good...................and its not when its not...........hey others have lost their homes..........some even their lives..........not complaining........just stating how it is ....but the fire fighters deserve credit plus for their efforts.....the unsung hero's so to speak.

a guy i work with is in the CFA for geelong area... he left geelong 930pm sunday night and got home 9am monday... then came to work till 430pm..

Heard there's 400 fires in Victoria right now, and 4 of them aren't under control. Just 4! How good is that? Our firey's rock!! 😁

My uncle's place is ok, but it's not over yet... *curses too-hot weather and too-dry land*

Been mopping up for the last 3 days.........power,phone & water back on.

Hey those firefighters are just heros.........been back every day since Sunday to check for any 'smoulders" & smoke............thought by tonite they would all be out, but hey as I was leaving i spoted a small wisp of smoke come out of the ground 3 days after the 'event".....went to check it out and found a tree stump glowing hot below the ground...........shows U cant be to careful.

Anyway......tomorrow is another big one...........lets hope its a fizzer.
