I believe the S model also had other things like twin carbs instead of one, and little bits like you have said, and things like possibly popouts in the back too.. (Not sure if that was an S option or not..馃お)

1500S 路

There were two models of the 1500S in OZ. There was the fully imported one which had loads of different trim compared with the OZ built one.

Imported S:

The dash pad as per up to 1963 standard 1500 vehicles which extended to the top of door trim.
Long armrests in front and rear as per above model.
Centre armrest in rear seat.
Popout rear quarter windows.
Steering column lock as per early model.
Different side mouldings from aluminium.
Side parkers moved to in line with mould strips.
Bonnet mostache
Front seat back locks as per early model.
Front and back boots had quarter panel covering.
Rear boot had light.
Bumpers had overriders.
"S" badge on rear numberplate light/boot handle
Twin carb high compression 1500 engine (8.5:1)

OZ S

The OZ built S was basically an OZ N model with one colour seats and twin carbs on the standard 1500 engine (7.8:1) with none of the above added trim.

Hope that helps

Sure does, thanks for that 1500S.

1500S 路

Forgot to mention the wrap around front indicators and long chrome rear reflector housings which many think should only belong to the early Fastbacks. The Fastback (66 model) exterior trim was a continuation of the discontinued 1500S (63-65). Early imported Fastbacks also had the locking steering column.

Hope not looking to buy a notch atm. I'm really after a split bus as a daily driver as my 65 bug isn't big enough for the family.
I actually got a dual suspension MTB into the bug this morning but had to take the front wheel off and fold down the back seats...
I really wish I had a bus. [sniff]
