Hearing about him from you Black Math I did some research and he is a very, very interesting person and very cool. Took a major part in the battle of the Bulge and the defence of Berlin but was not a member of the Nazi party, like Rommel who he served with in the Afrika Korp and as far as I can remember was well treated and respected by the allies at the end of the war because of the humane and honorable way he fought and led his men. Very cool considering I am distantly related to Black Math and therefore also his grand uncle. I love history!😀:thumb:bounce

You don't need to tell people about
Blaupunkt radios as they were the genuine VW Radios in the 60's & 70's.
Not in Australia as Radios were sourced locally from HMV and others (can't remember) Ferris were the Best Aussie made push button radios...
So if You had bought a new Beetle in the UK in the '60s with a Radio, it would have come with a Blaupunkt Radio... both imported from Germany..

If you can get in as an officer, life is a little sweeter for them then it is for us diggers. My old man was in artillery and he loved it, i have only experienced the artillery gun once and that was for a twenty one gun salute for Sir Roden Cutlers funeral, those dam things nearly knocked me off my feet. They are so bloody loud and the vibration that they send are huge.

They may be NOS headlights and bumper, but I think they work a treat!

Tough luck about the RACQ. I've always found 'em to be pretty hopeless. Did they get you up and running O.K.?

There are some good solid Dubbers on the Sunny Coast who can help you out with all sorts of things (and who will be a lot more honest than your usual mechanic). So get out on some of the runs, meet the people, and don't forget that most of them are pretty harmless (even though they may be dazzled by your beauty and behave like undersexed babboons).

Betty Boop, Anthiron and Eirinn are local, pretty cool, and about your generation, so keep your eye out for these user names.

No that isnt my kombi on the side of the bruce highway.. luckily.. she's at home but will be visiting the Buderim VW mechanic tomorrow.
vwombat- the last owners of my kombi called her 'fanny anne' which is english for stubborn old girl.. but i think she deserves abit more class than that.. but she is definately a girl and for the time being her name is 'annie'

Ya not wrong. I actually took my private one to a work funcyion (BBQ) and everyone was really scared to use it. The next day the buzz was flying around I was druggie and sold the crap as well.

The funny thing is they were the guests of the people I work with telling the lies. I guess they didn't know I'm a Naval Police Officer.lol.

if your coming from brisbane up towards maleny you hang a right to go towards montville and thus kondililla. but if you keep going to maleny about 400m down the road there is a road on the right leading to gardner falls... it use to be signed but not anymore i think...

its not as nice as kondillia but not such a bitch of a walk, and you can also play in the river before it becomes falls...

Yeah, u got a bit of an idea, can't disagree with that. Thats whats good about adding all these interesting features in the work, cause people can develope their own personal aesthetics to the work.

The kinda vines / roots are suppose to be like lighting, or some form of light or electricity being transmitted from the interior of me (ie: the heart/soul etc). As u can see, the shadows on the ground, where i am is bright and gets darker in the foreground as you go away from me. The eyeballs the the surrounding people who observe my identities (interior and exterior), as you can see on the desert landscape on the ground/foreground, there are shadows of people in the direction from the eyeballs from the light transmitted from me interior (ie: the shadow of the eyeball is the person, indicating that this eye is a person)

It is obviously very hard to see in a 50 kb pic, but in each eye is a lil' reflection of what each is seeing. For the ones who are getting 'shone' upon by this radiant interior (ie: The person is projecting their interior and showing their heart and soul, such as opinions, beliefs, feelings, emotions), the eyes depict what each person watching sees. One sees the exterior me (judging me upon my looks/origins/culture) and the other eye ball sees the interior of me (judging me for me (who i am), through my actions, interactions, feelings and emotions).

The other eyeballs in the dark left side are the people not being able to observe the interior identity, cause the person (me) is 'shielding it from showing' and there is a white mask also in front of my face (which u probably can't see) hiding the interior identity. Therefore, hiding my true emotions and feelings for all sorts of reasons (such as worry of not being accepted, anxiety, being someone u are really not, u know).

Now, the desert landscape does bring about a kind of exclusion/personal side that this is an artwork focused on my beliefs, not anyone elses ive seen. It also follows in a lil' bit of surrealism like Salvador Dali's surrealism with that kind of desert landscape.

The city in the sky is showing that in the foreground, its an excluded kind of atmosphere/location, and is a lil' out of this world. That is, its surrealisitic (dreamy, soulful, not really physical world with the interior identity). Having it present also links the meaning to the real world through the means of showing that the meaning i am presenting between the links of interior and exterior identity as well as the surrounding people is that this kind of practice and links are present through the real world in society.

Of course, the angle (9 point something degrees) gives an added sense of dimension and something less bland compared to a flat image, and adds to a bit of dreamy surrealistic feel. I also used the matter of 3rds in the image to distribute the pictures focus in order to allow more added dimension and more sense of originality besides a normal pic with the focus dead in the centre.

The colours mixed together happed to form a nice mix, not really intentional, but i liked it. I think thats enough of me babbling. Just my art work explanation for those with any interest.

lol, its all cool. Yeah, the artwork and the photos of me are pretty trippy, but thats what gets its attention and interest rather than being boring. I have done some really trippy stuff in art, like other digital things and sketches where the eyes seem to stare dead centre at you no matter what angle you look from. Really cool stuff like that.

I never really try to make it trippy like that, but its just a background result that seems to occur in all my works, which im happy for. Oh, nope im not an only child, i got 3 other brothers, and im the 2nd from the eldest. However, i am the only left hander out of the whole family, except for my grandmother. Maybe that has something to do with it perhaps...

Oh well, all trippy, all good. I luv those eyeballs though, got the imagine printed big at a professional printing buisness or something, really burnt a pocket in the schools funds, he he.

Art can and will mean anything you like... but if you have ignorant teachers don't let them try and tell you that all art has a deeper meaning. It's bullshit. Art critics try to find this deaper philosophical meaning in art when often it just isn't there. And often it doesn't need to be, some of the best art in the world never had a meaning.

If your interested, read a bit about Jeffrey Smart. Probably one of Australia's best artists and openly says that his art has NO meaning. I have read a few articles about critics trying to analyse his art and him telling them "nah, I just put that there because it needed something to fill the space".

Not knocking your work mate, just throught I would throw a spanner in the works. Also not saying that art shouldn't have meaning. I've just had too many teachers over the years try and make me find inner meaning when there clearly isn't anything past the obvious.

Yeah its for school, but in order to get a good mark, we need that strong meaning (or as they call it, visual literacy), otherwise we get no great mark, and that boshes up my chance of a decent op.

you can make it smaller in photopaint using the stretch function, or any other sort of photo editing program.

We obviously didnt go to the same uni, Engineering students at UOW never made it past the bar. 2nd year is remarkably less populated.

The engineers were all pissed and the arty design/music/drama students were all on the SRC, Queer Collective and other groups trying to get them to sign petitions.

A scallop may be a sea critter, but it can also be something to do with round thingys on the edge of fabric, I think it can even be some kind of hot rod paint scheme thingo...but in its most edible form, they are a slice of potato. I think the word scallop can me a thin slice of anything. Such a versatile word.

But a cake... now a cake could be something with shitloads of stuff put into a dish and comes out of the oven a cake, or something that is molded into something foodlike. (you can even get uranium cakes and cakes of soap) While some people do make mashed potato, compress it into a circle and deepfry it, this my friend is a circular hashbrown (though often sold as a scallop). The fact reamins, that a slice of battered potato is a scallop and no self respecting God would put 2 bloody bivalve molluscs in a drunk guys pocket!

New update... the 18th celebrations. Came as bluesbrothers (I was jake), and then the mates who neva seen me entoxicated, got me straight there, while a friend gave me a german cigar imported and duty free (neva smoked before, been 6 days, and haven't since... don't think i'm addicted PHEW lol) Suited the dub lifestyle anyways 😉

I sang and danced like a blues bro, we drove in the old V8 ltd, revin and having fun as a blues bro, and even played the Peter Gunn theme from the blues bro movie as we cruised in... so kool. especially the $10 opshop jacket i scored.
