Starbug 路

all i can say is... its about bloody time!!

you guys up north get cyclones and we get more chance of rain in our catchments.:thumb:thumb:thumb:thumb

It's even getting shitty down here in Mackay

Wag67 路

mick...prays are with u...

this cyclone just hit catagory five (finger of god)...and its due to come into innisfail (approx) ..Friend in Townsville Council tells us they have done day in town to set up emegency response at council rooms ready for tomorrows deluge...so its sounds pretty big.

good luck all those north who are in the midst of this one...

Anthiron 路

damn i thought it was bad down here. i read in the paper 285km/hr winds for you guys.

get the buggy under cover mick

Nah...get yer own. "Down South" wouldn't be able to handle it.We build our houses to take this type of torture. As long as the insurance companies don't run away like they did last time.....wouldn't pay out for water damage..:vader

h 路

yeah the surf should be up in a few days hopefully..

Starbug 路

stuff the surf... how about some rain?

i hope all is ok... category 5!!! i hope you guys up north dont sustain too much damage.
cyclone season is making a big entrance on the east coast this year!

well at least some goodness may come from that drestuctive force being sweet swells..
the rain would be a bonus as well but not 1 meter of it in a matter of hours.. as it will just wash everything away..
good luck members caught in its path..
we are thinkin of you guys n your rides..
try n stay safe

bugboymatt 路

Wonder how they are holding up, up there in the north !!!

Wag67 路

sounds like Innisfail has copped it pretty bad and well hopefully it will start to slacken off over the next hour or so and then the flooding will come. best of luck to all up there

MickH 路

My father in law is in ElArish (turnoff to Mission Beach). His house is GONE,cousins house across the road is roofless and full of water. They were unlucky ,as strange as it might seem, they had no "eye" of the storm as they were just out of it's range so the wind changed with no warning and they had no time to move elsewhere. My cousins text message at 5am this morning was "*uck" (his reply to me asking how he was going)Havn't heard from them since. Hope everyone is safe.Noticed there is another one off the coast now as well.......:vader

Andy 路

Hey Mick, hope all is well for you up there!!!

Fine in Townsville....just wet.Waiting for the 2nd one in a couple of days. All VW's are tucked away in the shed!!

Baja Wes 路

8 pics up so far on the news.com.au website.
http://www.news.com.au/gallery/0,10149,38596-1,00.html

No pics from Innisvale yet, most of the carnage pics are from Cairns which only really got the edges.

Surely the aussieveedubber community can get more pics than the news.com.au website 馃檪

This guy thinks it's safe to be outside, but the palm tree down the road disagrees

Don't use all your surf at once.Should be able to post some pictures etc tomorrow if i load up the pc tonight. Just got back from Tully area.Wot a mess.No power etc no trees and the rain has started......flood time..:cry

PrettyBlueBug 路

Wow, so full on. Hope all are ok, and the next one fizzles out before it hits the coast.

mackaymanx 路

Just been through Innsifail on the way up to Cairns on saturday 27th may , It was a real eye opener, after 2 months to see all the damage. Some of the trees are starting coming back but it just goes for kilometer after kilometer. I was a bit stuned to see how big an area was affected.

Shoulda dropped in...........

mackaymanx 路

Very, makes you think when you live in the tropics. I think they got lucky with this one (not that the people in Innisfail would think so), Larry could have easily have wiped Cairns or Townsville off the map.

mackaymanx 路

Sorry Mick it was a bit of a flying visit, was going to pick up that rear barwork but my brother couldn't get my trailer back in time. I be up in August promise I'll drop in then.
